Surat-based diamond merchant, Savji Dholakia, has been in the news several times in the past for his exorbitant gifts. Last year, the diamond merchant gifted 1,200 units of Datsun redi-GO hatchback to his employees on the occasion of new year. Savji Dholakia announced cutting down on the bonus later in 2017, and said that he is on an austerity drive. Well, Savji is back and he has now gifted three Mercedes-Benz SUVs to his employees.

The diamond merchant has gifted top-of-the-line, flagship Mercedes-Benz SUVs to three of his employees. Savji Dholakia gifted three black Mercedes-Benz GLS 350d SUVs to employees who completed 25 years with the company. All the three SUVs were handed over to the employees in a ceremony in Surat.

Savji Dholakia started showing up in the news after his car gifts to employees went viral. In the past, he has gifted around 500 Fiat Puntos, 1,260 cars from Maruti and Datsun and 1,200 units of Datsun redi-GO to his employees. This time around, he gave the flagship SUV of the brand to appreciate their long-term relationship with his company. The Mercedes-Benz GLS is an uber-luxurious car and the 350d variant gifted to the employees cost Rs. 1 crore on road price in Surat. The SUV is used by many celebrities, including actor Ranveer Singh.

The GLS is the SUV equivalent of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and offers a range of luxury features. It is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 258 Bhp and peak torque of 620 Nm. It gets an automatic 7-speed transmission. The GLS comes with LED headlamps with the Intelligent Light System (ILS) that add a luxurious look to the SUV. It also gets Nappa leather interiors, a panoramic sunroof, 3-zone climate control, rear seat entertainment systems and much more.
