3 SUVs cheaper than the Hyundai Venue thanks to discounts!

The Hyundai Venue has been launched and the car has aroused quite an interest over it from the public. Hyundai has thrown a salvo in terms of pricing as they have priced the base variant of the Venue well below most of the other sub-4 meter SUVs in the segments. The base petrol variant of the Venue (E 1.2) is priced at Rs. 6.50 lakhs while the top of the line petrol variant, SX+(O), is priced at Rs. 11.10 lakhs. The base diesel variant (E 1.4), on the other hand, is priced at Rs. 7.75 lakhs while the top end variant, SX 1.4(O), is priced at Rs. 10.84 lakhs.

If you are in the market to buy the Venue but are pondering over giving a shot to other rivals, we got you covered. Down below are three of the Venue’s rivals that are either priced more than it or have equivalent prices. However, due to the discounts running on them, they can be had for much less which makes it a value for money deal.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

Max. discount available: Rs. 33,000

3 SUVs cheaper than the Hyundai Venue thanks to discounts!

The Vitara Brezza is the best selling sub-4 meter SUV in the country right now. It, however, comes with only a diesel powertrain so the price comparison between it and the Hyundai Venue will be done only with the latter diesel variants. The prices for the Vitara Brezza start from Rs. 7.67 lakh for the base LDi variant and go all the way up to Rs. 10.64 lakhs for the top of the line ZDi+ Dual Tone AGS variant. These prices are in the same ballpark with a price difference of less than Rs. 20,000 between the equivalent variants.

Another important bit here is that the top end Brezza comes with an automatic gearbox option but the Venue does not have one. So if we consider the top end manual variant of the Brezza (ZDi+), it costs just Rs. 9.92 lakhs which is almost a lakh cheaper. Moreover, with a maximum applicable discount of Rs. 33,000 available on the car, this deal becomes even sweeter and tips the scales towards the Vitara Brezza. The discount offer is in the form of Rs 15,000 worth cash discount and Rs 15,000 worth exchange bonus along with a corporate bonus worth Rs. 3,000.

Mahindra TUV300

Max. discount available: Rs. 78,000

The Mahindra TUV300 is the next entry on this list which is available for lesser than the Hyundai Venue. Like the Hyundai SUV, it also is available with a diesel powertrain along with only a manual transmission (Mahindra recently discontinued the auto box on TUV300). As for the prices, the base variant of the TUV300 retails for Rs. 8.49 lakhs while the top end variant retails for Rs. 10.49 lakhs. This makes the base variant of the TUV300 much more expensive than the base diesel variant of the Hyundai Venue.

However, when you take into account the huge discount worth up to Rs. 78,000 on the TUV300 in consideration, the whole picture changes. The base variant gets down a price point which is equivalent to the Venue while the top end variant gets much cheaper than Venue’s top-end variant. Talking about the discounts, the scheme includes a Rs 63,000 worth cash discount along with an additional exchange bonus of Rs 15,000. It may offer a few less fancy features than the Venue but it gets a solid ladder frame chassis (the only car in the segment to have one), along with more space.

Tata Nexon

Max. discount available: Rs. 38,000

Last on the list and among the most fierce rivals to the Hyundai Venue is the Tata Nexon, which is actually the only car in the segment which beats the Venue’s pricing, though only by around a mere Rs. 1,500. It comes with both petrol and diesel engine options and both the engines get an automatic transmission option. The pricing for the petrol-powered Nexon variants starts from Rs. 6.48 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs. 9.94 lakhs for the top end variant. The pricing for the diesel variant, on the other hand, starts at Rs. 7.49 lakhs and goes all the way up to Rs. 10.90 lakhs.

Note that the top end diesel variant’s pricing mentioned here are for the automatic variant and if we look towards the top end diesel manual variant’s pricing, it costs Rs. 10.20 lakhs. The Nexon becomes even better value for money package when we take into account a discount worth Rs. 38,000 available on the vehicle. The discount scheme includes an exchange bonus of Rs. 15,000 along with a corporate bonus worth Rs. 3,000 for petrol variants. The diesel variants get a cash discount worth Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 20,000 in the form of exchange bonus along with Rs. 3,000 worth of corporate discount.
