Suzuki Access 125 gets combi-braking system to take on Honda Activa 125 automatic scooter

Suzuki Motorcycles India has just launched the Access 125 with combi-braking system, also known as CBS. CBS is a regulatory requirement on all sub-125cc two wheelers sold in India, which will kick in from April 2019. Suzuki has chosen to give the Access 125 this safety feature ahead of the deadline making the governmental regulations mandatory. CBS allows both the front and rear brakes to be activated simultaneously by just pressing a single lever, in this case the left hand side brake lever/rear brake lever. The front brake, which is situated on the right hand side of the handlebar can also be used independently. The Access 125 with CBS is priced at Rs. 58,980, ex-showroom Delhi.

Sajeev Rajasekharan, EVP, Sales and Marketing, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited, said this,

The new CBS update on the Access 125 further improves the value proposition. We are confident that with the new enhancements, we will be able to add many more customers to the Suzuki family.

CBS is a feature that has been offered as standard on Honda’s range of automatic scooters for a few years now. By offering CBS on the Access 125, Suzuki is making the scooter more attractive to buyers, and evenly placed as a competitor to the Honda Activa 125 and the Grazia 125. Apart from the addition of CBS, the rest of the automatic scooter remains unchanged. The Suzuki Access 125 is powered by a 125cc, four stroke engine that produces 8.7 PS of peak power and 10.2Nm of peak torque. The engine drives the rear wheel through a CVT automatic gearbox. A front disc brake is offered as an option on the Suzuki Access 125.

A peppy scooter with retro looks, the Suzuki Access 125 is one of India’s top selling 125cc automatic scooters. Key features of the scooter include a digital-analog instrument cluster, one touch shutter lock, a front storage pocket, a DC charging socket for mobile phones, tubeless tyres and alloy wheels. Apart from the Access 125 with CBS, Suzuki has also launched a special edition version of the automatic scooter which features a beige coloured leather seat as a retro touch. The special edition Access 125 also gets a new silver colour option. It’s priced at Rs. 60,580, ex-showroom Delhi.
