Suzuki’s legendary Blue and Green MotoGP colours have come to the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 fully faired motorcycle, and in a month’s time will also be available on the 250cc engined Gixxer SF model. The Gixxer SF 155 with the MotoGp paint scheme is priced at 1.11 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. Mechanically, the motorcycle remains unchanged, which means that it continues to operate with the 155cc, four stroke air cooled petrol engine that makes 14 Bhp of peak power and 14.5 Nm of peak torque. A five speed manual gearbox is standard with this engine while the motorcycle uses telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear shock absorber. Single channel ABS is now standard and early next year, Suzuki is likely to equip this engine with fuel injection in order to meet the Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms that comes into place from April 2020.
Commenting on the launch of the Gixxer SF MotoGP edition, Mr. Devashish Handa, Vice President, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. had this to say,
We are happy to introduce the GIXXER SF series MotoGP edition, the color admirably expresses the passion and spirit of racing inspired by legendary GSX-R series’ legacy. With State of the art design, high output and low fuel consumption engine along with an easy to handle chassis the GIXXER SF series MotoGP edition is designed to impress. Suzuki Motorcycle India, received an overwhelming response for the newly launched GIXXER SF series with lot of anticipation about the MotoGP colour. We are pleased to announce the launch of the same in Indian market today.
Earlier this year, Suzuki launched a 250cc version of the Gixxer in India. The bigger engined motorcycle is also fully faired, and gets styling that’s similar to the commuter bike. The ergonomics are more aggressive on the bigger engined bike, which uses a 249cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder fuel injection SOHC engine with 26 Bhp of peak power and 22.6 Nm of peak torque. A 6 speed manual gearbox is standard with this air-oil cooled engine.
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 SF gets dual channel ABS as standard but suspension set-up is similar to what’s on offer with the smaller engined bike. By the end of this year, Suzuki will also bring in the street naked version of the Gixxer 250 to the Indian market. Prices of the Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP edition have not yet been revealed. We expect it to command a slight premium over the regular variants. The official launch of the MotoGP themed bike will happen next month.
