Suzuki has launched the MotoGP inspired Gixxer Gixxer SF 250 in the Indian market. The new version is priced at Rs 1.71 lakh, ex-showroom. Apart from the new colour scheme, the bike remains identical to the regular versions of the Gixxer 250 SF. The paint scheme on the new bike is inspired by the Suzuki Ecstar MotoGP team.
The Gixxer SF 250 gets the blue paint scheme complete with the decals and the pinstripe on the wheels. It should be noted that the fairing of the Gixxer SF 250 is quite inspired by the GSX-RR, which the bike used by the MotoGP team.
Commenting on the launch, Mr Devashish Handa, Vice President, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said,
“Following the success of GIXXER SF 250, we are thrilled to launch the MotoGP edition of GIXXER SF 250 that asserts Suzuki’s racing DNA. The Suzuki Racing Blue colour has always been the identity of Suzuki’s spirit and passion for racing. The contemporary styling coupled with sporty design and high-performance engine powered with innovative SOCS technology further enhances the racing character of the motorcycle. We are sure that the motorcycle will be received with the same enthusiasm as the other variants of the GIXXER brand.”
The engine of the bike remains untouched. The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 gets powered by a 249cc, Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS), four-stroke, single-cylinder, fuel-injected SOHC engine. It gets the SEP technology that increases the performance of the bike while ensuring excellent fuel efficiency. The engine develops a maximum power of 26.5 PS of the maximum power of 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm at 7,500 rpm. It gets a six-speed transmission. It should be noted that this all-new engine has been developed especially for the India market. In the future, it is expected to power more bikes from the brand.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 offers standard features like dual-channel ABS that offers a smooth and safe braking option and also avoids any lock-up. There are disc brakes on both the wheels. The bike gets a telescopic front suspension and a rear monoshock. It also offers a fully-digital instrument cluster too. Suzuki offers an all-LED headlamp with LED DRLs at the front, which makes the bike look premium and also lights the way at night properly. Also, the bike gets the all-LED tail lamp. The muffler is dual exhaust and the alloy wheels are finished in a unique brushed finish.
Earlier, the pictures of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 naked were leaked and it is expected to be launched soon in the Indian market. The bike will get powered by the same engine option and will the same set-up when it comes to the brakes, headlamps and the suspension. It will be more affordable than the Gixxer SF 250.
