Japanese two-wheeler giant, Suzuki is planning to showcase as many as 17 new products at the Auto Expo 2018. Suzuki will also launch two new products at the event. The brand is yet to reveal the exact models but there are many motorcycles and scooters that are highly anticipated at the stall. Here are a few of them.
Intruder 155 FI
Suzuki recently launched the Intruder 150 in India. Now the Japanese brand will soon launch the fuel injected version of the entry-level cruiser. The fuel injected engine is already available with the Gixxer SF. The addition of the fuel injection makes the engine more responsive and increases the fuel efficiency too.
The power figures of 14.3 Bhp and 14 Nm will remain same as the carburetted version. We can expect a price hike of around Rs. 9,000 with the launch of the fuel injected version of the bike. This is one product that Suzuki will launch at the event.
Burgman
Indian two-wheeler market is all set to get a slew of maxi-scooters. Suzuki’s maxi-scooter called Burgman was recently spied in India and is expected to be launched at the expo. The scooter is called Burgman Street. The engine of the scooter is not known yet but it is expected that Suzuki will either utilise the 125cc engine that powers the Access scooter or will bring a new 150cc engine. If Suzuki decides to put the 150cc engine in the Burgman, it will be one of the most powerful scooters in the country and will take on the likes of Aprilia SR150 and Piaggio Vespa VX150.
GSX-R250
The Gixxer SF has become a decent success of the brand in India, Suzuki is now planning to launch a bigger version of the bike. The company will mark its entry in the 250cc segment with the GSX-R250. The bike looks much sharper and sportier than the Gixxer SF and looks heavily inspired from the flagship GSX-R1000. It is powered by 248cc, parallel-twin engine that produces a maximum of 24.7 bhp and 23.3 Nm torque.
V-Strom 250
Suzuki also unveiled its affordable adventure bike in the form of Suzuki V-Strom 250 after BMW unveiled the G 310 GS. The entry-level V-Strom will be a capable dual-purpose off-road motorcycle.
It will cater the Indian demand for an entry-level adventure motorcycle. The bike will be powered by a 250cc 24 BHP, 23.4 Nm engine. There will be various accessories like engine guard to protect the motorcycle from the debris during off-road trails.
V-Strom 650
Suzuki will also showcase the bigger V-Strom 650 at the event. Suzuki may also launch the bike later this year and it will go against the Kawasaki Versys 650. This will be the first 600cc segment bike from the Japanese giant in India when launched.
Gixxer Cup
Suzuki organises an annual race for the enthusiasts with the modified Gixxer SF and also participates in the One Make races. The modified version of the Gixxer gets clip-on handlebar and aftermarket exhaust among other performance parts. The Gixxer can be a very potent track tool if right parts are added to it. Suzuki will showcase the enthusiast-focused bike at the event.
Dirt bike range
Kawasaki already offers a few dirt bikes in India and is planning to launch a road-legal dirt bike soon. Suzuki will bring its range of dirt bikes that are available in the international markets. The range will include the 2018 RM-Z450, RM-Z250 and the DR-Z70. There are no plans of launching these in India soon but the visitors will get to see the product line-up at the expo.
Current line-up
Apart from all these bikes, Suzuki will showcase their current line-up that includes the Hayabusa, GSX-R1000, Gixxer, Gixxer SF, Intruder M1800, GSX-S1000, GSX-S1000F, V-Strom 1000, and the affordable bikes and scooters like Hayate, Let’s, Access and more.
