Suzuki motorcycles India today launched there new 250cc sports adventure tourer motorcycle V-Strom SX in India. The all-new V-Strom SX is priced at Rs 2.11 lakh, ex-showroom. This is Suzuki’s entry level product in the sports adventure tourer segment. The Suzuki V-Strom SX will compete with motorcycles like Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 250 Adventure, Benelli TRK 251, BMW G 310 GS in the segment.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, “We feel delighted to announce our entry in the 250cc adventure sports segment with the launch of V-Strom SX. The All-New V-Strom SX has been manufactured to cater to the needs of the riders who like a versatile sports adventure tourer. V-Strom SX will be perfectly suitable for city and highway riding as well as to explore various kinds of adventure terrains on a motorcycle. Today, motorcycles have evolved as an extension of its owner’s personality and riders look at their motorcycle as a partner rather than just a vehicle to commute. We are confident that with its all-round capabilities, V-Strom SX will perfectly blend with the latent demands of the Indian riders. All-New 250cc sports adventure tourer has been conceptualized to follow the footsteps of its big brother and make people fall in love with its performance on a daily basis, touring capabilities and features.”

Suzuki V-Strom SX 250cc motorcycle is aimed as a dual-purpose motorcycle. It is suitable for both highway, city runs and challenging terrains. The V-Strom SX is actually based on Suzuki’s Gixxer 250 motorcycle which is already on sale in India. The styling of the motorcycle has been changed and it now gets a beak design, Octagonal shaped LED headlamps, fly screen, knuckle guards, muscular looking tank design, short upswept exhaust, LED tail lamps and so on. The design of the V-Strom SX gets a rugged and tough looking design which is actually similar to higher capacity V-Strom motorcycles.
Suzuki offers a fully digital instrument cluster that supports Bluetooth connectivity, USB chargers and other features. The instrument cluster shows notifications like turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call, SMS alert and WhatsApp Alert display and missed call when connected to a mobile phone via Buetooth. The V-Strom SX motorcycle comes with telescopic front forks and monoshock suspension at the rear. As this a adventure tourer motorcycle, the V-Strom SX’s suspension has more travel in comparison to the regular Gixxer 250. Both front and the rear gets disc brakes and the bike also offers dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle comes with 19 inch wheels at the front and 17 inch at the rear and has a ground clearance of 205 mm. The seat height of this motorcycle is 835 mm and comes with a 12 litre fuel tank.
As mentioned above, V-Strom SX is based on Gixxer 250 and it is powered by the same 249-cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke, oil cooled engine. The engine generates 26.5 Ps and 22.2 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Suzuki V-Strom SX is available in three shades – Champion Yellow Number 2, Pearl Blaze Orange and Glass Sparkle Black
