Movie star Ajith Kumar sets off for a world tour on his BMW R 1200 GS

Apart from his excellent acting skills, which have won many accolades in the last decades, the renowned actor from the Tamil film industry Ajith Kumar, who is popularly known as ‘Thala Ajith’ by his fans, is also an avid motorcyclist. After wrapping up the shooting schedule of his upcoming Tamil film ‘Valimai’, Ajith has left for his long-planned cross-country road trip on his motorcycle. And his choice of weapon for the world tour is BMW R 1200 GS.

Ajith started his bike tour from his home in Chennai and reached Kathmandu after crossing a few Indian states. Some pictures of him and his bike at Kathmandu were shared by renowned film producer Boney Kapoor, who is a dear friend of Ajith and is producing a couple of his upcoming movies. In one picture, he is seen in his full riding gear along with his R 1200 GS, while in another picture, he is seen surrounded by Nepali soldiers where he clicked a few selfies with them. Another photo was seen on the web world, where he was seen with his motorcycle at the Wagah border.

It is believed that Ajith has crossed the international borders for his world tour and has entered Europe too. In the most recent set of pictures, he can be seen meeting with a popular global female rider Maral Yazarloo. In this meeting, both of them shared their common love for motorcycles and road trips and their experiences on touring on two wheels.

Another picture of Ajith surfaced on the internet, where he can be seen fully clad in his riding gear while being seated on his BMW R 1200 GS. The flagship adventure motorcycle from BMW, the R 1200 GS was replaced globally with a slightly more powerful and better-equipped version named R 1250 GS a couple of years ago. However, the R 1200 GS still ranks as one of the best adventure tourers of all time.

The BMW R 1200 GS owned by Ajith Kumar is in a stellar shade of blue with grey and white inserts and gets a liquid-cooled, two-cylinder, 1170cc Boxer engine. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, the engine of the R 1200 GS makes a maximum power output of 125 PS and a peak torque output of 125 Nm. All the power produced is transferred to the rear wheel via a shaft drive.

The BMW R 1200 GS is not the only motorcycle that Ajith Kumar owns. His unquestionable taste in motorcycles is visible in his collection comprising other motorcycles like BMW S 1000 RR, BMW K 1300 S, Aprilia Caponord 1200 and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R. Apart from these world-class touring motorcycles, Ajith Kumar also owns a few premium cars like Ferrari 458 Italia, BMW 740 Li and Honda Accord V6.
