Tata is planning to launch a bunch of new cars for the Indian market. These cars will span different segments – hatchbacks, SUVs and sedans. Tata showcased a premium hatchback codenamed, the 45X concept, at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Tata 45X is based on the new IMPACT 2.0 platform. The car will compete with premium hatchbacks such as the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20. The Tata 45X could be powered by the diesel engine borrowed from Tata Tiago, along with a new turbocharged petrol engine. Based on the design language of the concept model, here are 5 renders that indicate what the 45X concept’s production version could look like.
This rendering shows what a possible production model could look like. Finished in a steaming blue shade, this premium hatchback render holds the possibility of a real life vehicle. Front glance gives a different aura with those wraparound design headlights and cornering LED DRLs. The front grille looks similar to the one on the upcoming Harrier SUV. The profile shows big windows, which merge beautifully along the C-pillar. Chrome trim around the side windows and front grille adds more to the premium appeal.
This rendering takes design cues from the Tata Tiago. The 45X will be bigger than the Tiago, and sleeker looking. The front has sharp headlights merging into the front grille. The front bumper houses a big lower air dam with edgy fog lamp housings. The side profile shows a strong shoulder line with a thick C-pillar.
Tata Bolt inspired
This rendering looks inspired from the Tata Bolt, but looks much bigger. The headlights are of similar design as the Bolt, and wrap around the fenders. The hexagonal design front grille is finished in gloss black and gets a big Tata monogram. The front bumper hosts a rather modest lower grille with curved fog lamp housings on either sides. The alloys finished in diamond look gives a sporty feel to the side profile. The roof design is of floating type and window trims are finished in chrome.
Tata Vista inspired
This two tone rendering is attention grabbing. The front end gives a modern feel to the vehicle with big LED headlights and a sporty hood scoop. Again, the big black front grille finished in gloss black adds character. The hexagonal lower grille on the front bumper looks aerodynamic in design, and is paired with sleek fog lamp housings. Side profile looks edgy with side skirts and big 6 twin spoke alloys finished in chrome and black combo.
Don’t mistake this for any future Maruti vehicle although this render features cues from the Baleno hatchback. The all LED headlight merging into the front grille shows how hot future Tata products can look. Front bumper has a big lower grille with floating type design finished in two tone. The profile shows an aerodynamic design with roofline merging into the C-pillar. The alloy wheels look big and the minimal 5 spoke design adds oomph to the overall look.
Tata is expected to launch the 45X sometime around end-2019 and prices are expected to be around Rs 5.5-9 lakhs. At this price point, the car will sit bang in the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20 territory.
