According to the leaked brochure, Tata Motors will offer the new Altroz iCNG in six variants: XE, XM+, XM+ (S), XZ, XZ+ (S), and XZ+ O (S) trims. All models with (S) will come equipped with electric sunroofs and a premium voice assist feature.

In terms of exterior design, the car remains mostly identical to the outgoing model, except for the iCNG badges around the vehicle. The car will be equipped with projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, and a shark fin antenna on the top-spec variants. According to the brochure, the base spec variants of the Altroz iCNG will miss out on most features, except for standard safety features and a 4-inch digital instrument cluster system.

The XM+ variant, which sits above the base spec, will come equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen entertainment system with four speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, steering-mounted controls, voice assistance, What3Words navigation, central locking, remote keyless entry, electric folding ORVMs, and front and rear USB ports.

The top-spec XZ+ O (S) variant will include premium features such as a wireless charger, leather seats, Brake Sway Control, a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, automatic headlamps, a rear fog lamp, height-adjustable front seatbelts, an eight-speaker audio system, connected car technology with Remote Vehicle Control through Smartphone, tyre pressure monitoring systems, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, and TPMS.

As for the drivetrain, the Altroz iCNG will come equipped with a 1.2 iCNG 3-cylinder engine that can produce a maximum power of 84 bhp and 113 Nm of torque when running on petrol and 76 bhp and 103 Nm in CNG mode. The vehicle will only have a sole option of a five-speed manual transmission. The Altroz CNG variant will have a fuel capacity of 37 liters and can take 60 liters of CNG in its two cylinders.

Tata Motors’ newest CNG hatchback will be offered with innovative twin-cylinder technology, which has a massive capacity of 60 liters as previously mentioned. Each of the 30-liter cylinders will be located below the baggage compartment. According to the company, with typical CNG systems, a single large tank consumes most of the available baggage area, but this innovative method enables them to recover most of that space.

The company also added that the Altroz iCNG will include a single cutting-edge ECU, which will ensure a smooth and jerk-free transition from fuel to CNG mode or vice versa. Additionally, the Altroz iCNG will have a direct-start CNG mode feature. Thermal incident prevention, a gas leak monitoring function, and a micro switch to ensure the car is turned off when refilling are further safety features of Tata Motors’ newest CNG product. The Altroz iCNG will also come with a standard warranty of three years or 100,000 km from Tata Motors.
