With BS6 emission norms about to get implemented from 1st of April 2020, manufacturers have already started working and making their line up compatible to the new norms. Indian car manufacturer Tata Motors is not different as they have been vigorously launching new models and facelifts in the market that are BS6 compliant. Tata launched Altroz in the beginning of this year along with facelifted versions of Tiago hatchback, Tigor compact sedan and Nexon compact SUV. Tata Motors is now offering discounts on the old stocks of BS4 models that are there at the dealerships.
It is the entry level offering from Tata Motors and Tiago competes with cars like Maruti WagonR and Hyundai Santro. Tata had recently launched the facelifed version of Tiago hatchback with a BS6 petrol engine only. The diesel engine has been completely discontinued. Tata Motors is offering a maximum benefits of up to Rs 50,000 on the BS4 diesel models and up to Rs 45,000 on petrol ones.
Tigor also got a facelift last month and looks a bit more fresh in terms of design than before. Like Tiago hatchback, Tigor facelift or the BS6 version is only available with a 1.2 litre petrol engine only. The BS4 diesel model of the compact sedan attracts a maximum discount of Rs 70,000 and the petrol version gets up to Rs 60,000.
One of the older hatchbacks that Tata Motors used to offer. We hardly see any of those on our roads these days. Tata will soon be discontinuing this when the BS6 emission norms come into effect. Irrespective of the model, dealerships are offering a maximum discount of Rs 80,000 on Tata Bolt hatchback.
Another compact sedan that we rarely see on our roads. It was Tata’s second model in the compact sedan segment after Indigo CS. It is available with a 1.2 litre petrol and 1.3 litre Fiat sourced diesel engine. Like Bolt, Zest will also be discontinued. Dealerships are offering a discount of up to Rs 90,000 on whichever model is available in stock.
Tata Nexon is one of the most famous and the safest compact SUV in the segment. Tata Motors launched the SUV with BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines in January this year. Tata dealers are now offering a discount of up to Rs 55,000 on the pre facelift BS4 model of the compact SUV.
Tata Safari Storme
With rising competition in the segment Tata’s Safari Storme has also started to feel outdated in terms of spec and features that it offers. Tata Motors is currently offering a discount of Rs 55,000 on any variant of the Safari depending upon the availability of stock.
The mid-size SUV recently got a host of new updates including an automatic transmission and a BS6 diesel engine. The engine remains the same but, the power figures have gone up in comparison to the BS4 version. Tata is currently offering a maximum discount of Rs 1.3 lakh on the remaining BS4 models.
There were rumours earlier that Tata will be discontinuing the Hexa when Gravitas gets launched. But they have confirmed that they will not be doing that and the Hexa will be getting a BS6 compliant engine soon. The BS4 Hexa’s 2.2 litre turbocharged diesel engine is available in two states of tune. Tata is currently offering a maximum discount of Rs 2 lakh and an exchange bonus worth Rs 50,000 on the BS4 models.
