Tata Harrier BS6 Automatic selling at a HEFTY Rs. 1 lakh discount

Tata Motors launched the Harrier SUV earlier last year. It was a highly anticipated SUV from the brand and it grabbed attention of many buyers after the launch. It is now a very commonly spotted SUV on our roads. Tata gave Harrier a minor update earlier this year to keep up with the ever growing competition in the segment. It competes with cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector and Jeep Compass in the segment. Tata updated the engine in Harrier to meet BS6 emission norms and also offered an automatic transmission. Tata is now offering a huge discount on the automatic variant of Harrier SUV.

Tata Motors is offering a maximum cash discount of Rs 1 lakh with the new BS6 compliant Harrier automatic. The offer is available on XMA and XZA trims of the SUV. This is the highest discount that has been offered by Tata Motors on this SUV. This offer will definitely make Harrier a bit more tempting as it offers a lot more space and more power than Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos diesel.

Tata Harrier is a very bold looking SUV that is built on OMEGA ARC platform which is derived from Land Rover’s D8 platform. The BS6 version of the SUV had received number of updates in terms of features. The exterior design of the SUV remained the same but, it is now available in two new colour options. The design of the alloy wheels have also been updated and gets a dual tone finish. Another minor but important change on Harrier was the resized ORVM to minimise blind spot while driving.

On the inside, Harrier gets almost all the features as before like touchscreen infotainment screen, JBL audio system, leather wrapped multi function steering wheel, leather seats and so on. Features such as electrically adjustable driver side seat, a huge panoramic sunroof and an auto-dimming IRVM are newly added.

Tata Harrier BS6 is also powerful than the BS4 version. It is powered by the same 2.0 litre Kryotec turbocharged diesel engine but the BS6 compliant motor now generates 30 PS more power than the earlier version. The engine now generates 170 PS of peak power and 350 Nm of peak torque, making it as powerful as the engines on the Jeep Compass and MG Hector. On the Harrier, this engine is offered with two gearbox options:  a 6-speed manual and a Hyundai sourced 6 speed torque converter automatic.
