The electric division of Tata Motors, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, has been making waves in the electric vehicle market with its new offerings in the country. Most recently, the company showcased a clay model of its highly anticipated SUV, the Harrier EV, on its official Instagram page. This latest revelation provides a glimpse of the Harrier EV’s distinctive design and futuristic appeal from the front. Additionally, in the comment section of this post, the company revealed the launch timeline for the Harrier EV.
When it comes to design, the Harrier EV concept presented at the 2023 Auto Expo impressed buyers in the country with its bold and captivating aesthetics. The SUV features a new split headlamp design that incorporates a full-width running LED bar, adding a touch of modernity to the front fascia. The enclosed grille further enhances its sleek appearance. Although the Harrier EV is still in its concept form, it is expected that some design elements may be toned down as the vehicle nears production. However, the striking design changes introduced in the Harrier EV could also find their way into the standard ICE Harrier in the form of a facelift, offering a refreshed look to both variants.

Under the hood, Tata Motors promises an impressive powertrain and battery specifications for the Harrier EV, but the exact details have not been shared as of yet. However, Tata Motors has confirmed that the electric SUV will be equipped with a dual electric motor setup, enabling an all-wheel drive configuration. This configuration will not only provide enhanced performance but also improve the SUV’s handling and stability on various terrains. While the exact specifications of the Harrier EV have not been revealed yet, it is expected to deliver a real-world range of around 400-500 km, making it suitable for long drives and everyday commuting. Additionally, some reports have stated that it could come equipped with a 60 kWh battery pack.
Another standout feature of the Harrier EV will be its charging capabilities. Tata Motors has announced that the SUV will come with vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities. This means that the Harrier EV will not only be able to charge its own battery but also provide power to other devices or even charge other electric vehicles.
As for the pricing and launch date, Tata Motors has remained tight-lipped. However, industry experts speculate that the Harrier EV will be competitively priced to attract a wide range of buyers. Considering its features and performance, the Harrier EV is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 30-40 Lakh. As for the launch date, Tata Motors has not provided an exact timeline yet. However, as mentioned above, the company replied to a comment on its newest post and stated that the Tata Harrier EV will be launched in India in late 2024.
