Tata Harrier Red Edition with ADAS to be launched in the coming weeks: Variant details revealed

The country’s third-largest carmaker Tata Motors once again at the Auto Expo 2023 showcased a new edition of its top-of-the-line SUV duo Harrier and Safari called the Red Edition. Now it has been reported by Carwale that the Red Edition of the Harrier will be launching first and it will be introduced in the coming few weeks. For those who are unaware, the company recently opened bookings for the MY2023 Harrier and Safari which are different from the Red Edition models.

It has been reported that the Harrier Red Edition will be offered in two variants the first will be the base XZ+ variant and the second will be the more expensive ZXA+(O) trim. The base trim in terms of upgrades will receive a slightly different shade of black called the Oberon Black on the outside along with a piano black grille with Zircon Red accents. Meanwhile, on the interior, it will come fitted with Carnelian Red interior theme, Carnelian Red leatherette seats with diamond-style quilting, ‘Dark’ logo on the headrest. Additionally, the company will offer 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels in a Charcoal Black finish with red brake calipers as well.

As for the more expensive ZXA+(O) variant it will come equipped with all the above mentioned upgrades and on top of it, this variant will also get the coveted ADAS features. The Harrier Red Editions top spec variant will come with ADAS features such as high beam assist, lane change alert, lane departure warning, door open alert. Furthermore, it will also get traffic sign recognition, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning, forward collision warning, and autonomous emergency braking.

In addition, it was previously reported that the Red Edition Harrier and Safari will also come equipped with a significantly larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen, which will be once again paired with a nine-speaker JBL sound system. In addition, the SUV siblings will also get a fully digital instrument cluster in place of the semi-digital one that is currently available and they will also get the much anticipated 360-degree camera as well.

In terms of the drivetrain side of things there will not be any mechanical changes and the Harrier will continue to get the same 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine. This engine generates a maximum of 170 Ps and 350 Nm of peak torque. This engine is offered with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission option in both the Harrier and Safari.

In other Tata news, as mentioned above, Tata Motors via its official Twitter handle recently also announced the commencement of bookings for its updated flagship SUV duo the 2023 Harrier and Safari. The company most likely will be launching the new SUVs next month before it launches the Red Edition models. The company shared a picture of upgraded the Harrier and the Safari with the much anticipated ADAS features on its social media channel. Most of the technological feature upgrades of the Red Edition will be offered in MY2023 Safari and Harrier and only the aesthetic upgrades will be absent in the new MY2023 SUVs which will be launched first.
