The 15 new features on the Hexa Downtown Special Edition include a new urban bronze paint finish, downtown badging, side steps, a chrome pack for the exteriors (that covers the wing mirrors, the grille surround, headlamps and rub strips on the sides), and new diamond cut alloy wheels.
The insides of the luxury crossover get a wireless smartphone charger, Blaupunkt entertainment screens placed at the back of the front headrests, a carpet set, heads up display with a tyre pressure monitoring system, tan seat covers that complement the urban bronze paint scheme, and a car care kit.
Hexa buyers can opt for the Downtown edition in two packs – Absolute and Indulge. The engines of the Hexa will remain unchanged even on the Downtown edition. The base variant will continue with the 2.2 liter turbocharged diesel Varicor engine in the 148 Bhp-320 Nm state of tune. The higher variants get the same engine in 154 Bhp-400 Nm state of tune.
The base variant gets a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard, driving the rear wheels. The higher variants get 6 speed manual and torque converter automatic transmission options. Both rear wheel drive and all wheel drive layouts are also available. The Hexa has been a decent success for Tata. The 7 seat crossover competes with the Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass and Toyota Innova Crysta in terms of pricing.
