Tata launches Nexon Aero Edition; To rival Maruti Vitara Brezza’s customization options

Tata Motors had showcased two new versions of the Nexon SUV at the 2018 Auto Expo. These included the AMT model and the Aero Edition and the latter is now on sale via four different exterior / interior kit that customers can purchase from the showrooms. The good part is that most of the packages can be purchased for almost any variant of the Nexon.

The basic kit, Level 1, comes with the entire exterior body kit, Aero badges and front fog lamp garnish. This is available for Rs 30,601 and there might be an additional cost of Rs 7000 as labour charges for painting and installation of the kit. This kit is applicable for all variants, that is, XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ+

The Level 2 Aero kit is available in two options and is priced at Rs 40,824 and Rs 46,856 respectively. The fully loaded Level 3 Aero kit also has two options priced at Rs 55,625 and Rs 61,574 respectively. Sadly, an optional sunroof is not on the cards yet.

These Tata Nexon Aero kits are sold officially by the company through its network of showrooms and is a step in the right direction when it comes to customization of cars. Its time that manufacturers started offering high quality exterior and interior kits for their own models, rather than the customer spending the same amount for unreliable and low quality after-market products.

Although the official company statement mentions the Nexon Aero edition with the 1.2-litre petrol engine, we have every reason to believe that a diesel Nexon owner can also get the same kit. Hence, both petrol and diesel Nexon owners will be able to customize their SUVs with various Aero kits. Both the engines currently come with a 6-speed manual transmission though an AMT option for both engine options is also around the corner.
