Tata’s most recent addition to their portfolio was the Safari SUV. It is their new flagship vehicle. Both the Harrier and the Safari are doing pretty well in the segment. The Safari has to compete against the MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar and the upcoming Mahindra XUV 700. Tata Motors has released a new advertisement for the Safari now which gives us 15 reasons for buying the newly launched XTA+ variant of the Safari.
The XTA+ is based on the XT variant of the Safari but now is offered with an automatic transmission. It also comes with a panoramic sunroof that supports global close, anti-pinch and can close itself once it senses rain. It is priced at Rs. 20.08 lakhs ex-showroom. The new variant was launched to attract more buyers and strengthen up the market position of the Safari as the competition will be increasing once the XUV 700 launches.

The XTA+ variant gets a soft-touch dashboard with a top layer that is anti-reflective. There is a 7-inch floating island infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It is connected to 4 speakers and 4 tweeters that are sourced from Harman. It comes with automatic climate control, LED Daytime Running Lamps that double up as turn indicators. There is also automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.
The driver gets a height-adjustable seat with lumbar support and cruise control for fatigue-free highway driving. It also gets a push button to start/stop, mood lighting, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking camera and electrically foldable outside rearview mirrors. There is also iRA connected car technology as well as larger 18-inch alloy wheels.
XZ/XZA variant
If you opt for the higher XZ or XZA variant then it adds HID projector headlamps, fog lamps with cornering function, 6 airbags, hill descent control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, electronic parking brake with auto hold, 18-inch machined alloy wheels, auto-dimming interior rearview mirror and a shark-fin antenna.
This variant also adds some premium touches like a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-wrapped gear lever, Oyster white leather upholstery and leather on the door pads. Moreover, it gets three terrain modes, namely Normal, Rough and Wet. It comes with an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It is connected to 9 speakers sourced from JBL. It consists of 4 speakers, 4 tweeters, an amplifier and 1 subwoofer. There is also a 7-inch semi instrument cluster for the driver.
XZ+/XZA+
Then there are the top-end XZ+/XZA+ variants. It adds a panoramic sunroof and an option of captain chairs for the second row. You can also get the special Adventure Persona Edition in this variant. The Adventure Persona Edition gets a distinct Tropical Mist exterior colour and the interior is finished in Earthy Brown interiors. Other changes include piano black roof rails, piano black grille and badging and 18-inch charcoal black machined alloy wheels.
Engine
The Safari is offered with only a 2.0-litre diesel engine. It produces 170 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 350 Nm. You can have the Safari with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
