Let us give you some more information on the RaceMo. The RaceMo, like we mentioned above is a two seater coupe. It will be 3,835 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and have a height of 1,208 mm. While it is a sports car, it will have a ground clearance of 165 mm, which means it will be easily usable on a day-to-day basis. The 1.2 liter engine in question is based on the 3-cylinder unit from the Tiago. It has been turbocharged and now produces a massive 186 Bhp and 210 Nm. The company hasn’t revealed the weight as yet, however it is expected to be light.
The engine will be mated to a 6-speed AMT with paddle shifters. The company claims that 0-100 will be done in under 6 seconds, which is very impressive given the small engine that is powering the car. It will feature disc brakes at the front and the back and will get an electric park brake. On the safety front, it will get dual airbags, ABS and EBD. It will feature 3-point seatbelt as standard with the option of 4-point racing harness.
When and how much?
The vehicle is expected to make its Indian debut in 2018 and is expected to be priced around the Rs 25 lakh mark. It will be a limited edition vehicle which will be restricted to 250 units. While the RaceMo doesn’t have any direct competition, it will take on India’s only other homegrown sports car, the DC Avanti.
While this is not the first sports car concept from Tata Motors, the TaMo brand will look to build more niche products. Therefore, this will finally make it feasible for the brand to introduce such low volumes products.
