Tata Motors to make and deliver 2000 electric cars to Evera ride-hailing platform

In what appears to be one of the country’s biggest fleet orders Tata Motors – the nation’s third largest automotive manufacturer recently received an order for delivering 2,000 XPRES T EVs to one of the earliest EV-only – ride-hailing platforms in Delhi NCR region – Evera. Evera is a provider of asset-light EV taxi services to clients in the B2C and B2B markets. The EV cab aggregator has clocked more than eight million green KMs across Delhi NCR in a short amount of time since its launch.

Commenting on the achievement of this huge order, Shailesh Chandra – Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “With the XPRES-T EV Sedan we have created a new benchmark in the fleet market, and it is heartening to see renowned fleet aggregators joining the green mobility wave with us. The XPRES-T EV is the first car under the new XPRES brand, which Tata Motors announced in July 2021 specifically for fleet clients. There are two range choices available for the XPRES-T electric sedan: 213km and 165km (ARAI certified range under test conditions). It has a battery with a high energy density of 21.5 kWh and 16.5 kWh, respectively, and can be charged from 0% to 80% in 90 minutes and 110 minutes, respectively, using fast charging. It can also be charged conventionally from any suitable 15 A plug point.

The XPRES-T EV also gets Dual airbags, ABS with EBD, a single gear automatic transmission, and zero tailpipe emissions are all standard across all models. Interior features include a premium black colour scheme, automated temperature control, and Electric Blue accents across its interior and exterior will give it a differentiated presence from other Tata cars.

In other Tata Motors news, recently the company announced that Tiago EV, which is the brand’s newest electric car, has received an astounding amount of enthusiastic feedback from the Indian market and has shot beyond the 10,000 mark since bookings opened at noon on the 10th of October. Tata Motors has therefore increased the special introductory pricing, which starts at INR 8.49 Lakh (All India – Ex-showroom) to an additional 10,000 reservations in order to respond to the overwhelming consumer enthusiasm and to further promote the widespread adoption of electric vehicles in the country.
