Tata Motors is one of the leading car manufacturers in India, renowned for the superior build quality of their vehicles. The primary reason many people choose Tata cars is this very attribute. We have encountered numerous real-life incidents in which Tata cars have saved passengers’ lives during significant accidents. There have even been instances where impressed customers went on to purchase another Tata product. Here, we recount an incident from Bihar involving a Tata Nexon that collided with a tractor, causing the tractor to split into two pieces.
The video was shared by Nikhil Rana on his YouTube channel and captures the accident that occurred in Bihar. It was shared by one of his subscribers who mentioned that his cousin had recorded the video. Unfortunately, the video does not depict the accident’s circumstances clearly. From the video, it remains unclear which vehicle was responsible for the accident. Initially, the video shows a tractor and trailer lying on their sides.
The tractor’s front wheels were separated from the rest of the body. It is uncertain whether the person driving the tractor sustained injuries in the accident. Judging by the tractor’s condition, one might assume that the Nexon would have suffered severe damage. Surprisingly, that wasn’t the case. The Tata Nexon had only sustained damage to the front fender, a portion of the bumper, and the right-hand side headlamp. It appears that the right sides of both the tractor and the Nexon collided.
It is conceivable that the tractor lost control after the collision, given that it was towing a trailer. Fortunately, the trailer did not collide with the Nexon; otherwise, it might have sustained significant damage. The Nexon, for the most part, emerged unscathed. The vehicle’s structure absorbed the impact quite effectively, with the pillars appearing intact. Unfortunately, the video does not confirm whether the airbags deployed during the accident or provide information about the number of occupants in the Nexon at the time.
This incident is not the first of its kind that we have encountered. An accident like this could easily have proven fatal. Navigating Indian roads always presents a challenge, with reckless driving frequently contributing to such accidents. We’ve witnessed several incidents involving bikers riding on the wrong side of the road, improperly parked vehicles, jaywalkers, and even stray animals, all posing threats and causing accidents. Vehicle build quality has now become a critical consideration for many buyers when purchasing a car. The Tata Nexon stands out as one of the safest vehicles in its segment, having achieved a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. Tata is presently working on the Nexon facelift, subjecting the upcoming SUV to numerous tests. The company intends to introduce several modifications to the vehicle, including features such as a new touchscreen infotainment system, an illuminated logo on the steering wheel, redesigned headlamps, front grille, bumper, and alloy wheels. Tata is also likely to introduce a new 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine while continuing to offer the diesel engine. Additionally, Tata plans to provide a DCT transmission option for the upcoming Nexon.
