Tata Motors had launched their first fully electric SUV Nexon EV earlier this year. This is currently one of the three electric vehicles with a reasonably long driving range sold in India. It competes with cars like Hyundai Kona and MG ZS EV which are priced bit more expensive than Nexon EV. It is available in three trims – XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. The XZ+ Lux is the top-end trim and here we have a video that shows what all is offered in the XZ+ Lux trim in comparison to the other trims.
The video has been uploaded by AutoTrend TV on their youtube channel. The video starts by showing the exterior of the Nexon EV. The front is similar to the petrol powered version with sleeker looking projector type headlamp unit. There is an LED DRL integrated in the headlamp cluster that acts as turn indicator as well. Apart from that, it gets blue inserts below the front grille, around fog lamp and the lower part of the bumper. The tri-arrow design is seen in various parts of the car.
Moving to the side profile, it has dual tone alloy wheels that give it a premium look and the electric blue strips is seen on the window line as well. This colour differentiates, Nexon EV from regular petrol or diesel engined Nexon. It gets a grey toned roof with roof rails and the rear gets clear lens split LED tail lamps with Nexon EV badging there. Tri-arrow inserts are seen on the rear bumper as well.
Coming to the changes that XZ+ Lux version offers in comparison to the XZ+ and XM trim is the leatherette seats. Other trims get black fabric seats that are similar to the one seen in regular Nexon. The door pads, seats all get a leatherette upholstery that gives it a much more upmarket feel to it. Other additional feature that it has is the electric sunroof which is missing in lower trims. Apart from that almost everything is as same as the other versions.
It gets a touchscreen infotainment system with connected car features, semi-digital instrument cluster, rear AC vents and so on. The Nexon EV has a maximum range of 312 km on a full charge. The Nexon EV uses a 30.2 Kwh high capacity lithium-ion battery that generates a maximum of 129 Ps and 245 Nm of torque. The battery takes about 8 hours to charge through a 15A socket and can also charge upto 80 per cent in 60 mins using a DC or fast charger. The XZ+ Lux trim of Nexon is priced at Rs 15.99 lakh.
