Tata Motors recently launched the Nexon compact SUV facelift in the Indian market. The SUV competes with cars like Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Ford EcoSport in the segment. The Nexon has been a very popular car from the manufacturer and it caught attention of even more buyers after it cleared the Global NCAP crash test with five star ratings. The facelifted Nexon is different from the older 2019 version in many ways. Here we have a video that shows what all has changed in the facelifted Tata Nexon in comparison to the new one.
The video has been uploaded by AutoTrend TV on their youtube channel. The video compares exterior and interior of the 2019 Tata Nexon and the 2020 Nexon and shows what all has changed. The video starts by showing the front. Main difference that the updated Nexon has from the older version is that it now looks more SUVish and the credit goes to the new headlamp setup. The older version had a round headlamp setup which was not giving the car a butch or a proper SUV look.
Other changes at the front is the grille. It has now been replaced with a gloss black strip which was earlier a honey comb grille. The trim chosen here is the XM trim which sits above the base XE trim. The 2020 Nexon now gets a projector type headlamp with DRL as standard and the indicator has been placed near the fog lamp area. Being the XM trim both new and old cars miss out on fog lamps. At the bottom of the bumper the 2020 Nexon has the tri-arrow inserts which can be seen on other parts of the car. The 2020 Nexon’s XM trim also get auto folding ORVMs which was missing before.
Moving to the side, more or less everything remains the same. The 2020 XM trim gets a roof rail whereas the older version did not. Coming to the rear, 2020 Nexon has a clear lens split LED tail lamp setup whereas the older version got a conventional setup. The position of the reverse lamp has also been changed. It used to be on the lower side of the bumper in the older version. The Nexon badging is now placed on the centre of the boot lid like on Harrier and Altroz.
On the inside the 2020 Nexon gets a tri-arrow pattern on the seats, a new steering wheel which misses out on steering mounted audio controls now. Fully digital instrument cluster and a different design to the dashboard. Apart from that pretty much everything remains the same. The 2020 Nexon XM trim does not get rear AC vents, it is only available on higher trim levels. It was not there on any trims in previous version. Other details like the boot space and interior comfort remains the same.
2020 Tata Nexon continues to get a 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine. The only difference is that the 2020 Nexon’s engine is now BS6 compliant. The price of the 2020 Nexon now starts at Rs 6.95 lakh for petrol and Rs 8.45 lakh for diesel variants.
