Tata Nexon facelift spotted undisguised during official TVC shoot

Tata Motors, the country’s third-largest carmaker, is getting ready to finally launch the new facelifted iteration of its immensely popular sub-compact SUV, the Nexon. The company has been working on the development of the Nexon Facelift for quite some time now and will most likely be launching it in September. Most recently, a picture of the upcoming Nexon Facelift undisguised has been shared online. The picture seems to have been taken during the official TVC shoot of this upcoming car.

The newest undisguised image of Tata Nexon has been shared on Facebook by Motorbeam on their official page. From the picture, it can be noted that the Nexon Facelift TVC shoot is taking place in a hilly area. Also, in the picture, two people can be seen leaning on the front left corner of the car. Now, although the picture is quite blurry, it can be easily seen that the car is fully undisguised and boasts an all-new front-end design.

Exterior redesign

Talking in detail about the changes in the design of the forthcoming Tata Nexon Facelift, from this picture as well as a few renders shared before, it can be observed that the entire front fascia of the car has been changed. The Nexon now gets the signature split headlamp design where the thin LED DRLs sit on the top portion, while the main headlights have been placed below in the bumper. This design has brought the front of the Nexon in line with the other Tata SUVs, which already boast this design language.

From the side profile, we can observe that not much has been changed and the car retains its overall shape and body lines. The doors and the fenders remain the same as well. The only significant update on the side profile is the inclusion of a brand-new set of alloy wheels. Up top, a sunroof can also be noticed, which most likely will be a single-pane unit. Other than these changes, not much has changed on the side profile.

Talking about the rear-end redesign of the Nexon Facelift, recently a new undisguised picture of the SUV has been shared online by Rushlane. From the picture, it can be noted that the car will be getting an extremely unique set of LED taillights. These taillights are much sharper and sleeker and will get a connected LED strip in the middle. The rear bumper has also been made much sharper, and it will get a silver skid plate at the bottom portion. There will be two reflectors on either end of the lower bumper, similar to the ones that come in the outgoing model, but they will be a little sharper in design and also house the reverse lights.

New nomenclature for variants

Another one of the most recent revelations made about this upcoming SUV is that it will be getting a whole new nomenclature for its variants. The previously used variant names which started from X will be changed and with the Nexon facelift, the variants will get specific names. It has been reported that the new variants will be named similar to the Tata Punch micro-SUV and they will be Smart, Smart+, Smart+ (S), Pure, Pure (S), Creative, Creative+, Creative+ (S), Fearless, Fearless (S) and Fearless+ (S).

Powertrains

As for the updates on the drivetrain side of things, the forthcoming Tata Nexon Facelift will come with a brand-new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine on offer. The company will also continue to offer the 1.5-litre diesel engine. As for the transmission options, the company has not updated them. The same 6-speed manual and the 6-speed AMT will continue to be offered with the Nexon Facelift. The only new transmission on offer will be a new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which will come available with the new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
