Tata is working on the facelifted version of the Nexon, which is expected to be launched next year in the Indian market. However, to push the current sales, Tata will bring out a limited Kraz Edition, which will be a sporty version of the car. This is not the first time that Tata launched the Kraz edition in the Indian market.
Tata released a teaser video of the Nexon Kraz that indicates that the launch of the new vehicle will happen soon. The exact changes of the upcoming Nexon Kraz are not known but they will be limited to the visual changes like the previous version. The Kraz is likely to be launched later this month, which will give a push to the sales of the car during the festive seasons.
The previous Kraz edition Nexon came with contrasting highlights on the grille, ORVMs, alloy wheels and other parts. This gave a sporty touch to the Nexon. The upcoming Kraz edition, however, will be different from the previous version. It is likely to get a new design but the changes will be limited to the visuals only. Even the last edition of the Kraz was launched in September and it was available in two variants – Kraz and Kraz+.
The visual changes were not limited to the exterior only though. Even the interior of the Kraz edition was updated to get changes like green highlights all over the dashboard on an all-black background. The seats received a leatherette option with contrasting stitching. The dashboard also received the Kraz moniker. The piano-black finish on the dashboard, console and steering makes the cabin even more premium.
Tata also offers additional features with the Kraz edition including 4-speaker infotainment system. The system was from Harman. Other features include Bluetooth telephony, automatic climate control system, reverse parking sensors, multi-utility glovebox, rear air vents and more.
The Nexon Kraz was available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Even the upcoming version is expected to get both the engine options. There is a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 108 Bhp and a peak torque of 170 Nm. The diesel variant gets the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that develops the similar 108 Bhp and peak torque of 260 Nm. Both the engine options get 6-speed manual transmission and 6-speed AMT automatic transmission as an option.
It should be noted that Tata will launch the facelifted version of the Nexon in early 2020. The new car has been spotted testing on the Indian roads already and it will get a range of changes that will make it quite different from the current version of the Nexon.
