Nexon launched; Cheaper than Brezza, Ecosport

Tata has just launched the Nexon compact SUV. The Nexon petrol base variant is priced at 5.85 lakhs, which is cheaper than the base Ecosport petrol by 1.3 lakhs.

The Nexon diesel starts from 6.85 lakhs, which is a full Rs. 53,000 cheaper than the Brezza Diesel.

Petrol variant introductory prices (ex-showroom, Delhi) :

XE: 5.85 lakhs, XM: 6.50 lakhs, XT: 7.29 lakhs, XZ+: 8.45 lakhs and XZ+ Dual Tone: 8.60 lakhs.

Diesel variant introductory prices (ex-showroom, Delhi):

XE: 6.85 lakhs, XM: 7.40 lakhs, XT: 8.15 lakhs, XZ+: 9.30 lakhs and XZ+ Dual Tone: 9.45 lakhs.

The prices of Ford EcoSport starts at Rs. 7.16 lakh and goes up to Rs. 10.82 lakh. The Maruti Vitara Brezza, which is only available with diesel engine option starts at Rs. 7.38 lakh and goes up to Rs. 10.01 lakh.

The SUV is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. Both the engines are making a debut in the market with the Nexon. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that develops a maximum power of 108 Bhp and peak torque of 170 Nm.

The diesel engine is an all-new 1.5-litre engine that develops a maximum power of 108 Bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque. Both the engine options are available with 6-speed manual transmission. At a later stage, Tata will also offer an AMT version of the model.

The Nexon is available in five colours – Moroccan blue, Vermont red, Seattle silver, Glasgow grey and Calgary white. The compact SUV offers a lot of first-in-segment features like floating type infotainment system with voice-activated control, multi-drive modes that change power delivery, multi-purpose cooled glove box, wearable smart key, three-tone exteriors, umbrella holder and so on. The car also gets ABS with EBD as standard across all the variants. Dual airbags are also standard across all the variants.
