Tata Nexon is quite a popular car in the Indian market. With the rising competition in the market and launch of new products like Mahindra XUV300 and Hyundai Venue, Tata has added a new variant to the Nexon. The mid variant of the Tata Nexon, which goes by the name – XT has now been replaced with a new variant, which is now known as the XT+. It’s priced at Rs. 8.02 lakhs for the petrol version and Rs. 8.87 lakhs for the diesel model. Both prices reflect ex-showroom Delhi figures.
It is priced Rs 7,000 more than the XT variant. The Tata Nexon XT+ also gets features like Daytime Running Lamps, projector headlamps, 8-speaker surround system. The infotainment system gets USB/AUX/Bluetooth connectivity. The vehicle also gets driver seat height adjuster, front fog lamps and rear AC vents. However, the features like the automatic climate control and the shark fin antenna are missing from the vehicle, which are available with the higher-end variants.
It should be noted that the top-end variants like the XZ, XZ+ and the XZA+ variants get the new 7.0-inch display as the infotainment systems. The other variants with touchscreen get the same 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment. There are no other changes in the car in terms of features.
Recently, the Tata Nexon was spotted with a steering wheel similar to the Tata Altroz. The steering wheel was seen with the features like cruise control and automatic headlamps. However, these features were not introduced in any of the variants. It should be noted that Tata is also working on a facelifted version of the Nexon, which will be launched in the coming months. The new updated Nexon will offer a new look and new features in the cabin. Tata will also introduce the new BS6 compliant engine options with the Nexon when the facelifted version.
Currently, with the introduction of the new features and the new variant, there are no changes in the engines. The Nexon continues to be powered by the same 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum of 108 Bhp and 170 Nm. The 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine produces a maximum power of 108 Bhp and 260 Nm. Both the petrol and diesel engine options in the Nexon offer a 6-speed manual transmission. It is also the only car the segment that offers an automatic transmission with the engine options. The Nexon gets a 6-speed AMT automatic transmission and not a full-fledged automatic.
The facelifted Tata Nexon will be launched in the Indian market in the coming months. Tata is also working on various other products that will be launched in the market in the coming times. Soon, the brand will launch the Altroz and a later date, the 7-seater version of the Tata Harrier will be launched in the market.
