Tata has been testing the facelift version of the Nexon SUV for some time now. According to the spy pictures and several reports available online, Tata is expected to launch the Nexon facelift in the coming months. It is expected to undergo several changes in terms of features and design. A recent image that has surfaced online reveals details regarding the gearbox of the Tata Nexon facelift. Based on the leaked pictures, the upcoming Tata Nexon SUV will be equipped with a DCT gearbox.

The images have been shared by Motorbeam on their website. The image shared on the website shows the engine bay of the Tata Nexon, displaying details such as the vehicle’s name and the type of gearbox it is being offered with. We can clearly see “DCT” written above the barcode on the engine bay. Currently, Tata offers both petrol and diesel versions of the Tata Nexon with AMT and manual transmission options. With the launch of the Nexon facelift, it will be the second vehicle in Tata’s lineup to be equipped with a dual-clutch transmission.

Tata Motors is expected to offer this transmission option with a turbocharged petrol engine. It will be offered with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that generates around 125 PS and 225 Nm of peak torque. In addition to this major update, Tata will be offering several exterior and interior updates. The Tata Nexon facelift is expected to have a sharper and more aggressive look. Inspired by the Tata Curvv coupe SUV unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo, the new Nexon will feature the brand’s signature split LED headlights and DRL design at the front. The exterior design, in general, will have elements borrowed from the Curvv concept.

The revised bumper, grille, and headlamps will give the car a distinct identity. The side profile of the SUV remains mostly unchanged, with the major change being the alloys. The car comes with a redesigned rear bumper that gives it a more muscular and bulky look. The tail lamps are likely to be LED units. It is uncertain whether the SUV will have a connecting LED bar on the boot like many other cars in this segment. Just like the exterior, the interior of the upcoming Tata Nexon has also been redesigned. The brand-new dashboard layout greets the occupants, accompanied by new upholstery that enhances the overall ambiance. The highlight of the interior is likely to be the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, previously seen in the upgraded Harrier and Safari models. Additionally, the facelifted Nexon is expected to offer a new TFT instrument console.

In the earlier spy pictures that surfaced, we had seen what Tata Nexon’s steering wheel looks like. Like some of the exterior elements, the steering wheel has also been borrowed from the Tata Curvv. The twin-spoke steering wheel has a glowing Tata logo in the center. Other than the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, the Nexon will continue to be equipped with the 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine. This engine is expected to come with the same 6-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.
