Finally, after months of waiting and anticipation, the country’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, Tata Motors, has launched the Punch.ev in the country. Tata Motors has launched the Punch.ev with a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh, and it goes all the way up to Rs 14.49 lakh. So far, we have seen how this new SUV looks from the outside and inside. However, there were no driven impression videos of this SUV up until now. Recently, a YouTuber has now shared the driving impressions of the new Punch.ev. Here’s what he had to say.

He mentions that this new Tata Punch EV is based on the Tata’s Acti.ev platform, which is the brand’s indigenous electric-specific platform. The main benefits of this platform are that the company will now offer a real driving range much closer to the advertised range.

Additionally, this new platform will be highly modular. It will now serve as a base for the upcoming electric cars from Tata, including the new Curvv EV, Harrier EV, and Safari EV. Next up, the presenter shows the front of the car and shows the new connected LED DRL, new LED headlights, the charging port position behind the Tata logo, and the new front bumper. Apart from this, he then shows the new 16-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels and the LED taillights and new double-bubble rear diffuser.

After showing off the interior of the car and all the updates added over the ICE Punch, he starts off with the driving impressions of the new Tata Punch EV. After putting the car in drive mode and turning off the electronic parking brake, he starts turning the car. He states that the steering feels a little heavy, and after just turning it once, he mentions that the added weight of the batteries and electric powertrain can be felt. He adds that the Punch ICE does not feel this heavy.

Following this, he takes the car on a small stretch of straight road. He then punches the accelerator of the Tata Punch EV and mentions that it is very quick and easily picks up speed. After this, he also applies the brake with force and adds that the braking power is much more than the standard Punch ICE, as it comes equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels. The vlogger also mentions that the Punch EV feels very responsive, and it’s fun to drive because of all the instant torque.

As mentioned above, the company has launched Punch.ev in India, and it starts at Rs 10.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.49 lakh. It will come available in two main variants, which are the Standard range variants and Long-range variants. The standard range variants are Smart priced at Rs 10.99 lakh, Smart+ at Rs 11.49 lakh, Adventure priced at Rs 11.99 lakh, and then there are Empowered and Empowered+ variants priced at Rs 12.79 lakh and Rs 13.29 lakh, respectively. Lastly, there are two long-range variants, namely Adventure at Rs 12.99 lakh and Empowered+ at Rs 14.49 lakh.

The Standard Range variants get a new 25kWh battery with an MIDC-claimed 315 km range, while the Long Range variants come equipped with a larger 35kWh battery which claims an MIDC-certified 421 km range. As for the electric drivetrain, this SUV comes powered by a 122 bhp power and 190 Nm of torque electric motor.
