Tata Motors is one of the manufacturers that still does special paint schemes and special editions of their vehicles. They have Dark Editions of Nexon EV, Altroz, Nexon and Harrier. They also used to do the Camo Edition of the Harrier which is now discontinued. Here, we have a render of the upcoming Tata Punch micro SUV finished in the same Camo Edition paint scheme.
The render is done by SRK Designs. In the picture, we can see that the micro SUV is finished in the same Camo Green colour which was offered with the Harrier. Only the body colour of the Punch has been changed. The alloy wheels stay the same as the regular Punch. In Harrier, the Camo Edition used the same alloy wheel design, but they were finished in a darker paint scheme.
People buy such special paint schemes because it makes their vehicle stand out from other vehicles. Now, you would see a lot of Harrier’s on the road, but the Dark Edition and the Camo Edition have a different appeal because of their unique paint scheme.

They also launched Altroz, Nexon and Nexon EV with a Dark Edition. Their flagship Safari also gets some special editions. There is Adventure Persona Edition and the manufacturer also recently launched the Gold Edition of the Safari which consists of two colour options. There is Black Gold and White Gold.
Tata Punch
The Punch is expected to start from Rs. 5 lakhs ex-showroom while the on-road prices will start from Rs. 6 lakhs and goe all the way up to Rs. 10 lakhs. It might seem a bit pricey at first, but Tata is offering a lot more equipment than its rivals. Punch will go against Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV100 primarily. However, because of its pricing, it will also compete against the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and lower variants of Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet.
Engine and gearbox
The Punch will be offered only with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It produces 86 PS of max power and 113 Nm of peak torque. It will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. If you get the AMT transmission, then you also get Traction pro modes. The vehicle will detect if the vehicle is stuck in muddy or slippery conditions and will suggest turning on the Traction pro mode. We will have to wait for the launch of the Punch to launch so that we can test this feature.
Features
Punch will come with automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, part digital instrument cluster with an analogue speedometer, 90-degree opening doors, projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, LED Daytime Running Lamps, power windows and much more. It will also get a retuned touchscreen infotainment system with Harman sourced speakers and A-pillar mounted tweeters.
