Tata Motors recently launched their all-new 7-seater SUV, Safari in the market. It competes with SUVs like MG Hector Plus, upcoming Alcazar and Mahindra XUV500 in the segment. Tata had showcased the 2021 Safari at the Auto Expo last year but, back then it was known as Gravitas. It was only early this year that Tata Motors announced that the new 7-seater SUV will be named after the iconic SUV Safari. The response from the customers for all-new Safari is pretty good as there is a waiting period of over 2.5 months on this SUV. Here we have a render video that shows how the Safari might look like, if Tata were to launch a Dark Edition of the SUV.
The video has been uploaded by SRK Designs on their YouTube channel. The render artist takes inspiration from the Dark Edition of Harrier and recreates it with the all-new Safari. Number of changes are made to the SUV to transform a simple looking Safari SUV to Dark Edition. The artist starts by changing the colour of the SUV. The Royale Blue colour on the SUV have been changed to black.
Safari is offered in four colours and black is not one of them. There is a possibility that just like Harrier, Tata might come up with a Dark Edition for Safari in future. Coming back to the render, after changing the colour on this SUV, the artist moved to the front grille that has chrome studded tri-arrow designs. The front grille has all been completely blacked out. Not just the grille but all the other chrome and silver colour inserts on the SUV were blacked out for a uniform look.
The The dual tone alloy wheels also received a black treatment which gave it a butch look. The render also gets a Dark Edition badge on the side fender. This is similar to what we have seen on Harrier Dark Edition. Overall, the render looks neat and we think that, if Tata Motors ever launches a Dark Edition to Safari, it might look a lot like this.
Tata Safari as we all know is based on Harrier that was launched in the market back in 2019. It is based on the same platform and share design elements too. In comparison to Harrier, Safari is longer and taller. This is done in order to accommodate the third row of seats. Moving inside, the Safari offers three row of seats. It is available with both 6 and 7 seater options. The cabin looks similar to Harrier but, the colour scheme is different. It gets ashwod grey colour panels on the dashboard and white colour leather upholstery. The cabin looks spacious because of the upholstery itself.
There are features like touchscreen infotainment screen , panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, semi-digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable seats and so on. Tata Safari is powered by the same engine as Harrier. It gets a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 170 Ps and 350 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with both manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission option.
