Tata Safari is currently one of the popular 7-seater SUVs in the segment. It competes with SUVs like Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus and even the Hyundai Alcazar in the segment. It is based on Harrier and looks almost the same too. There are some features that are however specific to Safari. Like many other Tata SUVs, Safari also has a Dark Edition, which looks extremely good. This all black paint job has attracted many buyers towards the SUV. It makes your SUV look imposing on the road and at the same time, it looks elegant too. Here we have a Tata Safari Dark Edition that gets matte PPF which changes the entire look.

The video has been shared by brotomotiv.in on their Instagram page. In this video, the whole SUV has been wrapped in matte PPF. Before we talk about how the car looks, let’s talk about the PPF. It is actually a very efficient way of protecting the original paint of the car. It is like a lamination that protects the body panels from minor scratches. Some PPFs also offer self healing properties and they come with warranty for at least 5 years. PPFs are available in both gloss and matte finish and the one seen here is a matte variant.
Coming back to the video, Tata Safari seen here is completely wrapped in matte PPF. This is probably the first Tata Safari in India to get such a treatment. The matte PPF has completely changed the look of the SUV. Earlier, the gloss black paint on the SUV was giving it an imposing yet premium look. However after applying the PPF, the overall look of the SUV changed and it looks a lot more rugged than before. Tata Safari is a huge SUV and the matte PPF is actually going well with the overall look. Chrome parts have all been blacked out in the Dark Edition and the SUV gets a combination of gloss and matte black at places. For example, the front grille, lower window line, panoramic sunroof, black panel on the tailgate are all finished in gloss.

This is giving the SUV a character which enhances the sporty look. Tata Safari is an SUV that comes with decent number of features like ventilated seats at the front and rear, touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, panoramic sunroof, cruise control, JBL speaker system, leatherette upholstery and so on. Coming to the engine, the SUV is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine. This is the same engine that Tata offers with Harrier. This engine generates a maximum of 170 Ps and 350 Nm of peak torque. It is a 2WD SUV and comes with 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Tata is said to be working on a facelift for Harrier and the same is expected to be launched in the market next year. Once the Harrier facelift hits the market, we can expect a similar looking Safari as well. The SUV might offer more features and ADAS is expected to be one o f them.
