IPL has a large following in India and Tata is likely to take advantage of the occassion to launch the Gold Edition Safari.

A render image is also available online that shows, how the SUV might look like. It has been shared by Motorbeam on their website. The artist has actually made no changes to the overall design of the SUV. The only change is the paint job. It now gets the same High-Street Gold colour as Altroz. Other cosmetic changes seen on the render image are the grille and the wheels.

The chrome grille with tri-arrow design inserts have been completely blacked out and the dual tone alloy wheels on the SUV have also been blacked out. These features are expected to be seen in the Gold Edition as well.

Tata Safari is powered by the same engine as Harrier. It uses a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 170 Ps and 350 Nm of peak torque. This engine is also doing duties in Jeep Compass and MG Hector. It is available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission option.
