Tata Sierra SUV: What it’ll look like in production trim

If you have been following Tata Motors, you would remember the Sierra Concept that the manufacturer had showcased at the pavilion at the 2020 Auto Expo. Other than this, they had HBX concept and Gravitas, which we now know as Punch and Safari. Of all the models, Sierra concept pulled a lot of crowd. Many of them were attracted to the concept because of the iconic nameplate. Sierra was a compact SUV from the manufacturer which was way ahead of its time. After Tata showcased the concept, we have started seeing several artists creating digital renders to show us how the production version of Sierra might look like.

The render has been done by Praveen C. John and was shared on a Facebook group. The render is finished in a shade of Blue which looks good on the SUV. If you remember, the concept showcased by Tata was finished in White colour. Unlike Tata Harrier, Safari and other Tata models, it gets a very different looking front-end. The artist actually took inspiration from the original Sierra design. There is a blacked out front grille with Tata logo in the center. The headlamps are an extension of the grille itself and they have integrated LED DRLs and projector headlamps.

The front bumper on this render is a revised version of the bumper seen on the concept. There is a skid plate and LED fog lamp on the bumper. The bumper and the grille together give a very rugged look to the SUV. coming to the side profile, just like the original Sierra, the render also has a boxy design. There are squared out wheel arches with blacked out alloy wheels in it. The design of the alloy wheels are similar the Sierra Concept. One of the reason why we feel the original Sierra did not work  in India was because of its three door design. In this render, artist has corrected that the Sierra is now a proper 5-door SUV. The design of the rear window and the quarter panel is still inspired from the original Sierra.

The render does not show the rear three-quarters of the SUV but, it looks like the artist simply copied the design from the concept. When Tata unveiled the Sierra Concept at the 2020 Auto Expo, it had mentioned that the manufacturer currently has no plans to bring a production version of the same. They mentioned that, if there is enough interest among people, they might think of it. It should be noted that Sierra Concept was showcased as an EV and Tata Motors is currently the leader in the electric car segment in India.

They have Tata Nexon EV, Tigor EV and will be launching Tiago EV in the market. They also have showcased a variety of electric vehicle concepts in the recent past. We expect Tata to showcase some of these concepts to people at the 2023 Auto Expo and we won’t be actually surprised if Tata Motors decides to name their next electric SUV Sierra.
