Tata Motors has been gaining popularity in the market for their well built products. The manufacturer has been launching several updated an new models in the market and one such updated model was their entry level hatchback Tiago. Tiago received a facelift as part of the BS6 transition last year and is one of the popular hatchback in the segment. It competes with cars like Renault Kwid, Maruti Celerio, S-Presso in the segment. Tata had launch a cross hatchback version of Tiago as Tiago NRG in the market. It was based on the pre-facelift model and currently it is not available in the market anymore. Here we have a render video that shows how the Tiago Cross or NRG version of Tiago based on the current version might look like.
The video has been uploaded by SRK Designs on their youtube channel. This whole render image is actually a product of artist’s imagination and Tata has not said anything about launching a cross hatchback version of Tiago. The artist starts by making changes to give it a rugged look that is commonly seen in cross hatchbacks.

The Tiago gets thick plastic cladding around the wheel arches, lower part of the door and front and rear bumper. This gives Tiago a muscular look. The artist then starts working on the front bumper. He redesigns the bumper to give it a much more aggressive look. There is silver colour cladding around the lower air dam and the thick plastic cladding is also seen below it. The headlights have been redesigned too. It retains the same old shape but, the lights are now all LED and there and LED DRLs as well. The front grille gets the tri-arrow inserts in it and the Tata logo at the front has been replaced with full Tata brand name. The fog lamps are on the bumper with redesigned black garnish around it.
Coming back to the side profile, the stock dual tone alloy wheels on Tiago were replaced with another multi spoke dual tone units. The roof has been blacked out and the hatchback also gets roof rails for that rugged look. In this render video, we were not able to see the rear of the hatchback but, we expect to see a black cladding on the boot with a roof mounted spoiler along with an LED tail light.
Tata Tiago is one of the safest hatchback in the small hatchback segment. It had scored 4-star rating in Global NCAP crash test. On the inside, Tiago gets features like touchscreen infotainment screen, fully digital instrument cluster, ABS, airbags, rear parking sensors and camera and so on. BS4 version of Tiago was available with both petrol and diesel engine but, with BS6 emission norms in place, Tata had discontinued the diesel engine.
Tiago is now available with a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 84 Bhp and 113 Nm of torque. Tata Tiago is available with a 5-speed manual and a5-speed AMT gearbox option. There is also a possibility that Tata might introduce a turbo petrol engine in Tiago in future.
