Tata Tiago EV introductory prices end: New prices revealed

Tata Motors has hiked the price of the new Tiago EV electric hatchback across the segment. The new prices are Rs 20,000 more compared to the previous prices. Now the prices start at Rs 8.69 lakh and go up to Rs 11.99 lakh for the top-end variant. This is the end of the introductory prices of India’s most affordable hatchback but it continues to remain the most affordable in the market to date.

Back in September 2022, Tata launched the Tiago EV at a price of Rs 8.49 lakh. The brand announced that the introductory prices are only for the first 10,000 customers. However, due to an overwhelming response, the introductory price bracket was raised for the next 10,000 customers as well.

The vehicle remains quite popular in the market. While Tata is yet to announce an official waiting period on the car, various dealers quote a waiting period of about six months. Tata has already started delivering the hatchback.

Commenting on this exciting news, Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Head, Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said,

“The Tiago.ev is a special product as it is making electric mobility accessible and mainstream. It has received a phenomenal response from customers making it the ‘Fastest Booked EV’ in India with 10,000 units being booked on the first day and 20,000 bookings achieved within a month.

“It is now time for us to move to the next leg of this journey. To continue extending the fervour of this exciting product to more customers without any compromise, we are happy to announce the starting price of the Tiago.ev range at INR 8.69 Lakh, a nominal INR 20,000 hike from the proposed introductory price – committing to our promise of democratising the EV market and keeping the product accessible to all by retaining the starting price below 10 lakhs.”

2023 Tata Tiago EV

Tata Tiago EV comes powered by the Ziptron technology that also powers the likes of the Tata Tiago EV and Nexon EV. There are multiple battery packs on offer that delivers different ranges. There is a 24 kWh battery pack that delivers an MIDC-certified range of 315 km. It should translate into a real-world range of 260 km. There is a smaller 19.2 kWh battery pack available too. It gets an MIDC-certified range of 250 km, which should translate to roughly 200 km of range.

The car also gets two drive modes – City and Sport. There are four different regeneration levels that can increase the range. The Tata Tiago EV will offer telematics with Z-Connect. There are more than 65 features including remote AC on/off, remote geo-fencing, real-time charging status, smartwatch connectivity and more.

Tata also offers leatherette seats, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, auto-headlamps, electrically adjustable ORVMs, cruise control and more. Tata also offers as many as 8 speakers with the top-end variant of the car. The all-new Tata Tiago EV does not get direct competition in the market.
