The Tiago NRG has turned one and to celebrate the first anniversary of this crossover hatchback, Tata Motors has launched a new XT variant. Apart from the new variant, Tata Motors has also added more equipment to the existing trims of the Tiago NRG. The new Tata Tiago XT variant is priced at Rs. 6.42 lakh, ex-showroom.
Here’s what the new variant gets:

- 3.5” Infotainment System by HarmanTM
- Steering Mounted Controls
- Height Adjustable Driver Seat
- Front Fog Lamps
Apart from these features, the Tiago NRG retains other the features that differentiate it from the regular hatchback. These features include a more rugged design with body cladding, a 181 mm ground clearance, roof rails, charcoal black interiors and a blacked out roof. Mechanically, the Tiago NRG remains unchanged. It’s powered by a 1.2 liter-3 cylinder petrol engine with 84 Bhp-115 Nm.

There are two gearboxes on offer: a 5 speed manual and a 5 speed automated manual (AMT). The Tiago NRG, like the regular Tiago, is one of the safest cars in its class, with a 4 star Global NCAP crash safety rating. The car feels sturdy, and has been rated to have a stable body shell – a rarity in India’s hatchback segment. The NRG trims contribute 15 % to the overall sales of the Tata Tiago line-up.
Tata Motors has also introduced new features to the XT trims of the regular Tiago, which is sold with petrol and CNG options. 14” Hyperstyle Wheels, height adjustable driver seat and rear parcel shelf are 3 new features offered on the Tiago XT, XTA and XT CNG trims. For Rs. 30,000 more, customers can also opt for the Rhythm accessory pack for the Tiago XT, which adds a 7″ touchscreen infotainment system, rear camera and 4 tweeters. The Tiago XT is now available in a new colour: Midnight Plum. Other colours on offer include Opal White, Daytona Grey, Arizona Blue and Flame Red. The Tiago and NRG cars are built at Tata Motors’ Sanand factory in Gujarat.
