Rash driving is one of the biggest causes of road accidents in India. While many accidents go unnoticed, here is a dashboard camera video of a Tata Tiago going at high speed and losing control completely.
The video captured by the front and rear dashboard cameras of another vehicle shows a Tata Tiago hatchback weaving at a high speed on the road. After the Tiago takes a high-speed left turn to overtake another vehicle, it makes a right turn after the overtake was complete and lost control of the car.

The dashboard camera footage further shows the Tiago losing control completely and hitting the concrete road divider at a high speed. The impact destroyed the front end of the Tiago completely and also caused the vehicle to roll back. No one was reported injured in the car.
High speed overtake
The video clearly shows how high speed can cause a loss of control. The Tata Tiago does not offer Electronic Stability Program (ESP). The car would not have lost its control with ESP. However, driving like this inside the city limits makes accidents like this certain.
One should always follow the speed limits to avoid challans and incidents like this. Speed limits of the roads are set after studying the design of the road and not adhering to the limits can cause such accidents.
Tiago is the safest car in its segment
Many owners of Tata Motor cars have thanked the build quality of the vehicles in the past. Many people post about the accidents they have been through and then thank the quality of the car. Tata currently offers the largest number of cars with 4-star and 5-star safety ratings.
The Tiago is the safest car in the segment according to the ratings by Global NCAP. It has received as many as four stars. However, the footwell and the structure of the vehicle have been rated as unstable.
Tata Motors has one of the best safety-rated model line-ups in India. The Tata Tiago and Tigor have four-star safety ratings while the Tata Altroz and the Tata Nexon have full five-star safety ratings. Other vehicles like the Harrier is yet to be tested by the safety rating agency.
In future, crash safety tests will become mandatory as the government has proposed. All the manufacturers will have to send the new cars for crash tests to get a safety star rating if the proposal becomes law.
