While all the other auto brands are busy with launches and festivities, Tata is not sitting ideal either. The company will launch the much awaited sports version of the Tiago and Tigor this week (26th Oct reportedly) which will be called the Tiago and Tigor JTP respectively. However, now there is a new buzz that the company is planning to bring in a new top version of its Tiago hatchback. Some spyshots have surfaced which give strength to these claims.
Going by the recent doings of Tata, this seems quite logical. The company has been bringing in new variants of its cars since a few weeks. This includes the Hexa XM+, the Tigor XZ+, and the the Tiago NRG. The upcoming JTP variants are a further addition to this list. So an addition to the Tiago lineup is considerable too. The car was seen near Tata’s plant in Pune and carried multiple cosmetic changes.
As seen in the spyshot, the most evident change on a glance are the new 15-inch alloy wheels which are taken from the Tigor. Other visible changes include the grille and the headlamps which seem to be taken from the refreshed Tigor. The car in the picture wears a new Titanium Grey paint shade and features a contrast black roof.
Though there is no other picture or shot of the interiors, going by the changes made on the updated Tigor, we can say that the car could come with the new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that made its debut on the Tigor. Another reason for this could be the newly launched Hyundai Santro, which sports a 7 inch infotainment system, a first in the segment.

Talking about the Tiago, the car currently comes with a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.05-litre diesel engine, producing 84 Bhp/114 Nm and 69 Bhp/140 Nm respectively. These engines are shared with the Tigor. As for the transmission, the petrol variant gets a choice of either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox while the diesel is mated to a 5-speed manual only. The car starts at Rs. 3.39 lakh and goes upto Rs. 6.04 lakh and rivals the new Hyundai Santro, Maruti Celerio, and the Renault Kwid in the segment.
