Tata Motors, which is currently leading the private electric vehicle market in India has launched the Tigor EV. The Tigor EV was available only for corporate and government buyers till 2019. Tata has now launched an updated version of the Tigor EV.
The Tigor EV gets the same ZIPTRON technology that is available with the Nexon EV as well. Just like the Nexon, there is an eight-year warranty on the car. The vehicle gets a 26 kWh battery pack. It is an IP67 rated battery pack and comes with an 8-year warranty. It gets a protective case as well.

The vehicle come powered by a 55 kW electric motor that also generates peak torque of 170 Nm. It can do 0-60 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. The battery management system is tailor-made for Indian conditions. The vehicle gets a host of connected car features that can be used to control the vehicle from the outside as well as inside. The vehicle gets a regenerative braking system that charges the battery as soon as one applies the brakes on the car.
Tata has added low-resistance tyres to ensure maximum range on a full battery. The vehicle gets a CCS2 charging system that meets global standards. The vehicle gets a Fast Charging system as well. On the Fast Charging system, the vehicle can get charged in under 60 minutes. While one can use the regular 15 ampere home charging socket to charge the new Tigor EV.
Modern cabin
The cabin gets a 7.0-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with four speakers and four tweeters. The connected feature iRA gets more than 30 connected features. These features can be used to control various features in the vehicle.
The instrument cluster is also new and offers an all-digital view. Tata Motors claim that they have optimised the cabin to make it even more silent. The ORVM are electrically adjustable and it gets a height-adjustable driver seat as well.
Tata Motors will offer the spare wheel as an optional choice that will increase the boot space to 370 litres. Tata Motors will offer a puncture repair kit with the car for the customers. Safety-wise, the Tigor EV gets high rigidity platform and there is hill descent and hill ascent assist too.
Tata has started accepting the bookings for the new Tata Tigor EV and the price announcement will happen on 31st August. Tata has started accepting the bookings at the dealerships and online portal as well.
