Reliance Jio is expected to launch its Jio Fiber broadband service soon, in all major metropolitan cities, with additional 1.1 TB data for its users. Reliance Jio Fiber offers 1.1 TB free data

Recent reports claim that the ‘Initial plan’ being offered to users provides upto 1.1 TB data of Jio Fiber Net. Jio Fiber FTH broadband services are currently being tested in select markets including Chennai, Jamnagar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, and many more with a commercial launch set for later this year. Reliance has confirmed that the Jio fiber-to-home services are well on track for the launch.

Reports from credible sources claim that the services offered by Jio Fiber include 100 GB of free data per month at 100 Mbps speed for all its users, all over the country. After the consumption of the aforementioned FUP, customers can opt for 40 GB of free data in the form of top-ups, without any charges, for a total of 25 times in a single month. This comes to 1100 GB data in total or approximately 1.1 TB. It is not confirmed whether the additional FUP data provided would be at 100 Mbps speed or not.

Reliance Jio is said to be launching Jio Fiber broadband services publicly for both household and enterprises customers, with an expected user count as high as 100 million television households across 30 cities. Previous preview plans were available for the first three months of usage with 100 GB of free data per month, at 100 Mbps. Exceeding the 100 GB FUP meant a drop to broadband speed of 1 Mbps.

The Jio Fiber connection is said to be available in the initial markets at an interest free security deposit of Rs 4,500, which is said to be refundable. The Head of Strategy and Planning at Reliance Jio said that the initial security deposit is likely to work as payment for installation of the Jio router, which can also be used as a set top box to enable TV channels via IPTV services that are yet to be rolled out. The company is also said to have three lakh kilometers of optic fiber network across the country.
