Tesla Model X Electric SUV Caught Cruising Gurgaon Streets [Video]

The American electric vehicle giant Tesla has been showing keen interest in the Indian car market for a long time. It recently even made the Indian government formulate a brand-new EV policy as well. However, the company is currently taking a step back before entering India. Its cars, however, have still been able to find homes in the country. Recently, a Tesla Model X, the electric SUV from the brand, was spotted driving on a highway in Gurgaon.
This short clip of the Tesla Model X driving around in Gurgaon has come courtesy of We Are Gurgaon from Instagram. The person recording the video shows the Tesla Model X being driven on the national highway in Gurgaon. He states it is the only one he has seen in India.
We have to mention that although the Tesla Model X is a rare car in India, this particular car is not the only Model X in India. There are a few of them across the country. This particular car could be, however, the only one in Delhi or maybe not in India.
The Tesla Model X seen in the video belongs to Resbird Technologies Pvt. Ltd. This company is a subsidiary of the Bird Group, which is a group involved in a number of sectors. The list includes Information Technology, Travel & Aviation Services, and Luxury Retail and Education.
Bird Group also owns the Roseate House New Delhi five-star hotel. This particular car is generally parked in the basement of the hotel. This car was privately imported by the owner of Bird Group just before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Apart from this Tesla Model X, the group also owns a Bentley Flying Spur, a Ferrari California convertible, and a Hummer H2. The group also owns a number of vintage cars, all of which are parked in the underground parking of their hotel.
As stated above, this could be the only Model X in North India. However, it definitely is not the only Tesla Model X in India. The country’s first-ever Tesla Model X was imported by Prashant Ruia, the CEO of the Essar group.
This particular Tesla Model X is finished in the lovely shade of blue. It is regularly spotted being driven around Mumbai. It is believed that Prashant Ruia paid around Rs 2 crore for this SUV to be privately imported into India.
Back in January of this year, another Tesla Model X finished in a shade of reddish-orange was spotted driving in Bangalore, Karnataka. Unlike the above-seen Tesla’s, this one was spotted with a registration plate from Dubai. Reports stated that it was imported by Tesla itself.
The Model X electric SUV comes offered with two electric powertrains. There is a long-range variant and a more powerful Plaid variant. With the long-range variant, the Tesla Model X gets a dual-motor setup with a claimed range of 579 km.
Meanwhile, the Plaid variant comes equipped with a tri-motor setup. The claimed range, however, drops to 547 km. Both variants get an all-wheel-drive system. The long-range variant can do the 0-100 kmph sprint in 3.8 seconds.
Whereas the Plaid can do the same in just 2.5 seconds, which is extremely quick. This makes it the fastest SUV in terms of 0-100 kmph. Power-wise, the standard Model X makes around 532 bhp and the Plaid makes around 1020 bhp.
