The Thackerays & their cars: From Land Cruiser to Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Thackerays are a well-known family in Maharashtra. Their family name is almost synonymous with the state and all members of the family are holding a lot of respect in the eyes of the public. In the recent past, for the first time, one of the members of the Thackeray family became the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. With this position, comes the power to move around in the most high-end luxurious cars. Here’s a list of cars used by the family.

Uddhav Thackeray

Mercedes-Benz GL-Class

The Chief Minister of Mumbai moves around with a lot of security but chooses to move in style and luxury. Uddhav Thackeray has chosen Mercedez-Benz GL-Class for his regular inter-city travel. Uddhav Thackeray also uses the Toyota Fortuner and Tata Safari armoured, which was allocated to him by the state. The GL-Class was a flagship SUV launched by Mercedez before the luxury carmaker from Germany changed the nomenclature of the models and named it GLS. Uddhav Thackray’s GL-Class is pearl white and is loaded with features.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Uddhav and Raj Thackeray have been spotted together in this old generation S-Class saloon on multiple occasions. Even though they haven’t been spotted together in the recent past but the vehicle is still being spotted. It is used by Uddhav Thackray every now and then.

Aditya Thackeray

BMW 3-Series GT

There’s been quite a controversy with Aditya Thackray’s BMW 5GT which he claimed was worth Rs. 6.5 Lakhs. Aditya is mostly spotted with the BMW 5GT and has also been extensively used during his election campaigns. The BMW 5GT is famous for the exemplary space provided by the manufacturer which makes the car perfect for families or group of friends taking long road trips.

Land Rover Range Rover Vogue

Land Rover itself is quite popular amongst celebrities and the rich and famous in our country. Therefore, its not surprising that even Aditya owns one. Surprisingly Aditya’s Range Rover is also in the same colour as his BMW 3-Series GT in deep blue. The car made news in the recent past because it suffered multiple punctures due to bad Mumbai road conditions during traffic hours.

Raj Thackeray

Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Raj Thackray owns one of the most luxurious cars available in the country, the Mercedez-Benz S-Class. He is often seen driving the car himself. Raj Thackray owns multiple profit-making businesses which allow him to afford such luxuries. However, the S-Class owned by Raj Thackray belongs to an older generation.

Toyota Land Cruiser is a popular choice amongst high end and people of position and power. This is because of the bulletproof reliability offered by the manufacturer. Because of this feature, the Land Cruiser becomes the first choice of many celebs. Apart from this, the Land Cruiser is an extremely adaptable car and can go through rough terrains easily. Raj Thackray has been spotted multiple times driving his old-generation Land Cruiser.
