Kalyanaraman, the chairman and managing director of the very popular brand – Kalyan Jewellers and Kalyan Developers.

There might only be a few who may not be aware of the Kalyan Jewellers in India. While the modern jewellery retailer has an expansive presence in South Indian, the Kalyan Jewellers also have several international stores in different countries.

T. S. Kalyanaraman started working at a young age

The chairman started working at a very young age. He was only 12 years old when his father took him to the textile shops to make him learn about the basics of being a businessman. Over the years, he became the owner of one of the largest retail stores in India and also the richest jewellery store in the country. The first store of Kalyan Jewellers was inaugurated in 1993. Since then, the value of Kalyan Jewellers has increased to 8,407 crores.

Fond of luxury cars

T. S. Kalyanaraman loves luxury cars, especially the ones that carry the Rolls Royce brand. He owns one Rolls Royce Phantom Series I and two Phantom Series II. All three cars are of different colours. While one is finished in black, the other one is finished in a shade of silver while the last one gets a shade of white.

The Phantom has been the flagship model of the brand for a long time now. It comes with a sticker price that is close to Rs 10 crore but the price can rise if the owner chooses the optional extras.

The power comes from a 6.75-litre V12 petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 445 Bhp and a peak torque of 720 Nm. It comes with GPS connected automatic transmission that can anticipate the turns and prepare for the smoothest gear shift possible.

The businessman did not go for any luxury SUVs. Instead, he chose the Volkswagen Touareg that was discontinued in 2014 due to poor sales. Volkswgen got the Touareg to India as a fully CBU model with a price tag of Rs 59 lakh.

He also owns a private jet and a helicopter. The Embraer Legacy 650 Jet owned by the businessman is priced at a whopping Rs 178 crore as per the details in the video. He also owns a personal helicopter – a Bell 427 that is made in Canada and costs Rs 48 crore.
