This is India’s first Tata Safari to get a 360 degree view camera

Tata launched Safari in the market earlier this year. It is currently the flagship SUV from Tata and it competes with cars like MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar and recently launched Mahindra XUV700. The 7-seater SUV comes with several features but, 360 degree camera is not one of them. People have already started looking for aftermarket options to make their Safari look a lot more premium than it already is. Here we have a video where a 2021 Tata Safari gets a 360 degree camera installed in it.

The video has been uploaded by CAR SONICS CAR ACCESSORIES HYDERABAD on their youTube channel. They have modified several cars and SUVs in the past and this is probably India’s first Tata Safari to get a 360 degree camera installed in it. What makes this even more special is that the feature has been integrated into the stock touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Safari.

Normally, in such type of modifications, we have seen that normally the stock touschscreen infotainment system is replaced with an aftermarket unit to accommodate such features. Here in this case, they modified the existing system to include this new feature. Tata Safari only shows feed from the reverse parking camera. The camera quality is not the best.

The camera was replaced for high resolution units which show feed in 4K. The video does show the clarity of the camera before and after installing the system. After installing the system, the camera shows bird’s eye view and shows the feed from all the cameras. The cameras installed on the wing mirror also act as a blind spot monitors whenever the the turn indicators are turn engaged.

The system also records footage from all the four cameras and stores it in the company fitted system only. This can be accessed by the driver or occupants whenever needed. Video also mentions that this modification has been made to the existing system without cutting any wires which means, the warranty is also not affected. They mention that such 360 degree camera systems are available for many other SUVs and cars and interested buyers will have to get in touch with the seller in advance as these things are only made to order.

Tata Safari comes with decent amount of features like panoramic sunroof, cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, leather wrapped steering and seats, electrically adjustable driver seats, captain seat for rear passenger (optional), automatic climate control and so on. Tata recently launched Safari Gold Edition in White Gold and Black Gold shades. It offers features like inbuilt air purifier, ventilated seats for both first and second row passengers, gold coloured accents both on the outside and inside, wireless phone charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and so on.

XT and XZ trims of Safari have also been updated. XT and XTA trim now offers wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and air purifier. The XZ and XZA trims now come with wireless phone charger along with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and air purifier. Both these trims continue to offer all the other features that come with Safari.
