This is the man who bought a Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV for Rs 1 crore

The Mahindra XUV400 has already been released in the market, and the acceptance and popularity of this new all-electric SUV from the indigenous UV manufacturer are soaring to new heights with each passing day. Previously, Mahindra announced that it would auction off the exclusively-designed XUV400 electric SUV, with the proceeds intended for charity. However, Mahindra has now presented the special edition XUV400 at a public event, fetching over Rs 1 crore.

During a public event, Anand Mahindra, the Chairperson of Mahindra and Mahindra, presented the keys of the unique Mahindra XUV400 to Karunakar Kundavaram, a resident of Hyderabad, for a price of Rs 1 crore and 75 thousand. The entire proceeds from this special edition XUV400 will be dedicated to the cause of sustainable development for our planet Earth.

What makes this XUV400 different?

Speaking of the one-off Mahindra XUV400, this exclusive variant of the electric SUV was specially crafted through a collaboration between Mahindra’s Chief Design Officer, Pratap Bose, and renowned fashion designer Rimzim Dadu. Named the ‘Rimzim Dadu x Bose’ edition, this unique XUV400 showcases an Arctic Blue paint scheme with a distinct blue outline for the copper-finished twin-peaks logo located at the front and rear of the SUV. The interior and exterior of this XUV400 feature the ‘Rimzim Dadu x Bose’ insignia at various locations, alongside meticulous attention to detail in other aspects.

It is worth noting that bookings for the new Mahindra XUV400 have already begun nationwide in India. This all-electric SUV is available in two variants: EC (priced at Rs 15.99 lakh) and EL (priced at Rs 18.99 lakh). The new XUV400 can be selected from five different color options, including Everest White, Arctic Blue, Napoli Black, Galaxy Grey, and Infinity Blue. Remarkably, Mahindra has already received over 15,000 bookings for the new XUV400. Mahindra XUV400 competes electric SUVs like Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV in the segment.

Derived from the XUV300, the new XUV400 is an elongated version of its predecessor, featuring an electric powertrain. The EL variant comes equipped with a standard 39.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, while the lower-spec EC variant is fitted with a slightly smaller 34.5 kWh battery. The new XUV400 boasts a claimed maximum range of 456 km with the 39.5 kWh battery. Both variants of the XUV400 are powered by a 148 bhp electric motor, delivering a peak torque output of 310 Nm. On paper, the XUV400 looks better than the Nexon EV Max.

The new Mahindra XUV400 comes equipped with several notable features, including a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, three drive modes, a BlueSense Plus connectivity app with over 60 connected features, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The ICE version of the SUV, which is offered as XUV300 in the market comes with a petrol and a diesel engine option. it is a sub-4 meter SUV based on Ssangyong Tivoli which was offered in the international market. The new XUV400 is actually inspired the Ssnagyong Tivoli as it measures over 4 metre.
