Mahindra Thar is probably one of the most popular 4×4 SUV in the market. It got launched in the market last year and quickly became popular among buyers. The SUV became so popular that there is currently a waiting period of almost an year. There are several off-road and modification videos of Mahindra Thar available online. Many of them have been featured on our website as well. Here we have a modified Mahindra Thar that looks butch with 20 inch alloy wheels.
The video has been uploaded by Autostyle Bangalore on their YouTube channel. The all black colour on the SUV looks mean and the same theme has been followed while modifying the car. Several modifications have been done to the SUV. Starting with the front, the standard grille on the Thar has been replaced with a Jeep Wrangler style aftermarket unit. The original headlamps on the car has been replaced with aftermarket projector units with ring type LED DRLs.

Coming down, the stock bumper on the SUV has been replaced with an aftermarket off-road bumper. An electric winch has also been integrated into the bumper. No changes have been made to the bonnet but, a pair of auxiliary lamps are installed in front of the A Pillar. The side profile of the SUV reveals more changes. Mahindra offers 18 inch alloy wheels with Thar in the higher LX variant. Those wheels are replaced with 20 inch aftermarket alloy wheels from Fuel.
In comparison to the original wheels, the new wheel look wider. The wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich tyres. The wide tyres and wheels totally elevate the look of the SUV and give it an aggressive stance. A door hinge step has also been installed n this SUV. As we move to the rear, the car gets LED reflector lamps and on the inside, the car gets a digital techmeter installed which shows speed, tachometer and other necessary information.
The fabric seat covers on Mahindra Thar were replaced with Nappa leather custom seat covers. Other customisations like armrest for driver and rear occupants are also made. With all these modifications in place Mahindra Thar has an imposing presence on the road and is definitely a head turner.
Mahindra Thar is one of the safest car in the segment. The 4-seater version of Mahindra Thar was sent for crash test by Global NCAP. It cleared the crash test with 4 star ratings. Mahindra Thar is available in AX and LX variants. AX is the base and LX in the higher variant. All these variants come with 4×4 as standard. Mahindra is also working on a much more practical 5-door version of Mahindra Thar.
Mahindra offer Thar with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine version is powered by a 2.0 litre mStallion turbocharged engine. The engine generates 150 Bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. The diesel version of the SUV is powered by a 2.2 litre mHawk turbocharged engine. The engine generates 130 Bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. Both petrol and diesel engine options are offered with manual and automatic transmission options.
