Toyota is one of the biggest car manufacturers in the world and has been present in the Indian market for a long time now. The Japanese giant is known for the quality and the reliability of the products sold in the Indian market. Toyota has a few top-selling products in various segments in the Indian market and in the coming times, the manufacturer will bring in new products to keep the product line-up fresh and gain more market share. Here are 6 new Toyota cars and SUVs that will be launched in the Indian market soon.
2019 Toyota Corolla Altis
Expected launch: Early 2019
Toyota has officially unveiled the 2019 Toyota Corolla Altis in the Chinese market and soon it would make its way to the Indian market. The 2019 Corolla Altis is an all-new car based on the all-new TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform. The all-new model looks extremely aggressive with the new design changes done to the exterior. The all-new Corolla Altis is longer by 20mm but the wheelbase remains the same. The height of the sedan has also come down. It is the best-selling model in the D-Segment and the all-new model is expected to bring in a large number of customers.
The all-new Corolla Altis in India is expected to get a hybrid system in India. The power and torque figures of the same have not been revealed yet but it is expected to be around 145 PS and 180 Nm. It would be offered in both manual and i-CVT automatic versions.
2019 Toyota Camry
Expected launch: Mid 2019
The premium sedan Camry is the best-selling in its segment too. Toyota revealed the eight generation of the Camry in the international markets and it is expected to make its way to the Indian market soon. The all-new Camry will also get the all-new TNGA platform and it would grow in size too. With an increase of wheelbase by 50mm, the interior space would be much larger than the current version.
The interiors of the all-new Camry would be updated thoroughly too! There would the all-new Toyota Hybrid System II (THS II) that would get the E-CVT transmission. The sedan also gets a bigger 6.5 Ah nickel-metal hydride battery with increased 60 litres of the fuel tank that will increase the overall range of the vehicle. The 2.5-litre petrol engine has been updated to produce a maximum of 176 Bhp and 221 Nm.
Toyota C-HR
Expected launch: Mid 2019
The Toyota C-HR has been spied testing on the Indian roads for a long time now. The compact SUV would take on the likes of Jeep Compass and Hyundai Creta. The C-HR looks very aggressive and has an eye-catchy design. The full form of the C-HR is Coupe-High Rider and the ASEAN spec model is already available in the Thailand market. The C-HR would get dual-tone paint scheme with a thick D-Pillar, which gives it a floating roof effect.
Toyota would power the C-HR in India with a 1.8-litre petrol engine that produces a maximum of 97 Bhp and 142 Nm of peak torque. However, it is quite possible that Toyota launches the compact SUV with a hybrid system, which increases the fuel efficiency.
Toyota’s Maruti Baleno version
Expected launch: 2019
Maruti and Toyota have signed an agreement under which both the manufacturers would use rebadged versions of the cars in India. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which is a premium hatchback in the Indian car market would be the first product that would be the first rebadged product in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki would provide an estimated 25,000 units of the Baleno to the Toyota annually, which Toyota would rebadge and sell under its own brand name. Toyota may its own features to the vehicle but the engine and transmission are expected to remain the same. The rebadged vehicles would also look slightly different.
Toyota’s Maruti Vitara Brezza version
Expected launch: 2019
The sub-4-meter Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has become the most popular SUV in India. Toyota India after the partnership will launch its own version of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in the Indian market. The Vitara Brezza will follow the same suite as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Toyota is expected to launch a vehicle which is much similar to the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza but with a different logo and different interiors. Toyota may also change the interiors to keep the product true to their original design.
Toyota Prius
All-new Toyota Prius has been revealed in the international markets and soon the all-new electric car would make its way to the Indian market. Toyota has revealed the new Prius in the international markets and it gets a new front-end, which gives a much fresher look to the vehicle. The new Prius also gets a new front-end design and an all-new rear design. The new Prius would carry the same 1.8-litre petrol engine and is expected to get the same AWD mode as it is available in the international markets.
