Toyota Etios Cross launched in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited has launched the Etios Cross crossover styled hatchback in India. The car is a slightly different styled version of the Liva hatchback, replete with body cladding and minor design changes to come across as a more butch version of the Liva. On the inside, the Etios Cross gets an all-black finish for the dashboard that gives the car’s innards an inkling of sporti-ness while the instrumentation console and assorted bits gets larger.

The Etios Cross hatchback is the latest in the new crop of crossover styled hatchbacks in the Indian car market. While cars such as the now-discontinued Skoda Fabia Scout and the lone operator until now, the Volkswagen Polo Cross, have been market duds, it remains to be seen if the Etios Cross manages to catch the attention of the Indian car buyer. Another crossover styled hatchback, the Fiat Avventura, will hit Indian roads before September 2014.
