Toyota Fortuner is one of the most popular SUVs in its segment. It has been in the market for over a decade. It became popular among buyers for its looks, reliability and off-road abilities. It is a popular vehicle in the off-road circles and we have seen examples of several modified Toyota Fortuner SUVs. Earlier this year, Toyota decided to launch a facelifted version of Fortuner with some feature updates. They also introduced a much more premium and sporty looking Legender version in the market. Here we have a video that shows a pre-facelift Toyota Fortuner getting converted into Legender version.
The video has been uploaded by ABHISHEK GUMBER on his YouTube channel. Vlogger starts by sharing his experience with the Toyota Fortuner. He has been a fan of Toyota Fortuner and had owned previous generation Fortuner as well. He currently owns the 2019 model Toyota Fortuner and is very happy with it. When Toyota launched the Legender in India, vlogger thought of converting his regular Fortuner to Legender.

He took the SUV to a workshop who were doing the conversion job. He dropped the vehicle at the garage and the work was completed in 2 days time. As part of the conversion, several panels on the Toyota Fortuner were replaces. The front portion of the SUV was completely changed to give it that Legender look.
The front grille, bumper and headlamps were removed from the front. As part of the conversion process, the SUV now gets a gloss black garnish over the new Legender style all LED headlamps. The single chrome grille was replaced and it now gets split front grille which is finished in black. In comparison to a regular Fortuner, Legender does not get any chrome elements in it.
The front bumper was completely replaced with Legender bumper which looks a lot more muscular. The fog lamps and the dynamic turn indicators on the lower part of the bumper are also installed to complete the Legender look. Coming to the side profile, no changes have been made here. It still rides on the same old pre-facelift dual tone alloy wheels and tyres.
The pillars and the roof on this Toyota Fortuner were wrapped in matte black vinyl to complete the Legender look. At the rear, the tail lights remain the same. Vlogger mentions that new tail lamps do not fit properly in place of the existing unit and that is why he did not replace them. Just like at the front, rear bumper on this SUV has also been replaced with Legender style bumper. The work done on this Fortuner looks pretty neat and the SUV does look like a Legender from the front. No changes have been made to the interior of this Fortuner.
Toyota Fortuner is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version powered by a 2.7 litre engine while the diesel version uses a 2.8 litre motor. Both petrol and diesel engine options are available with manual and automatic gearbox option. Only the diesel version gets 4×4 and the Legender version in India is available with diesel engine (2WD) and an automatic gearbox only.
