Toyota Fortuner Transformed: Meet India’s first Legender with exotic gold wrap!

Despite its high price tag, the Toyota Fortuner Legender has become one of the most favourite SUVs in India and is taking forward the legacy of the Fortuner nameplate very effectively. The SUV lovers seem to get fond of the striking and sleeker-looking front fascia of the Legender variant over the regular version.

It is why many owners of the regular version of the second-generation Fortuner are getting the front fascia of their vehicles modified with that of the Legender variant. Many custom car workshops are now offering kits for the same. Here, we have come across one such tastefully modified regular Toyota Fortuner by CRAVE DESIGN.

Second-generation Fortuner converted to Legender

Seen here is a pre-facelift second-generation Toyota Fortuner, which has been customized to make it look like an all-new Toyota Fortuner Legender. The entire modification process has been carried out by Crave Design. The front fascia of this Toyota Fortuner has been completely altered with that of the Legender variant, with the SUV now getting a sleeker front grille with piano black finish and sleeker LED headlamps with daytime running LEDs from the Legender variant.

Even the front bumper is from the Legender variant, with aggressive-looking surrounds for the fog lamps, dynamic LED turn indicators on the lower corners of the front bumper and piano black finish for the fog lamp surrounds and front splitter. Another major highlight of this customized Toyota Fortuner is its stunning looking Bronze Gold paint shade, which has a matte touch. Even the B and C pillars and the roof-mounted spoiler at the back are finished in the same shade of gold. To protect it from minor scratches and after-effects of harsh climatic conditions, the exterior body is treated with Kamakazi ceramic coating with Glasurit scratch resistant hyper gloss clear coating.

Other highlights which make this customized Toyota Fortuner look very appealing are custom-made LED tail lamps and contrast-looking gloss black coloured door handles, roof rails, rearview mirrors, wheel arch mouldings, boot lid garnish, tail lamp surrounds rear bumper skid plate and garnish on rear bumper corners. The alloy wheels are treated with a dual-tone gloss black and golden finish. While a majority of the chrome parts are replaced with gloss black ones, the Toyota logos at the front and rear continue to be in chrome.

Legender is the most expensive variant

Toyota launched the Fortuner Legender alongside the facelifted Toyota Fortuner, with the former being the range-topping version of the SUV. It gets a different looking front fascia and minor tweaks with additional features on the inside. The Toyota Fortuner Legender is available with a diesel-automatic powertrain as standard.

While the rear-wheel-drive version is priced at Rs 38.61 lakh, the four-wheel-drive version will set you back by Rs 42.33 lakh (both prices ex-showroom, India). The powertrain on duty is a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which produces a maximum power output of 204 bhp and a peak torque output of 500 Nm. The standard transmission option for this variant is a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
